A sorry recruit who was booed by the 'great Clemson fans' when he had some fielding issues but still finds it in his heart to come back to campus and give to the program. You can bet the only reason he does that is because of Jack Leggett...it surely is not to thank the fans that booed him off the field.

I think you're exaggerating a little bit there. Booed off the field? When did that happen? It's not like he was disrespected all around by fans throughout his career. He had lots of spectacular plays that made people go crazy. I still remember being at the last regional game against Oregon State when he had to go all the way up (perfectly timed jump) to save a hit near the end of the game. He had lots of fielding issues but it wasn't just that he was bad. He'd make plays that he had no business making and then turn around and screw up some routine play. Fans had good reason to be upset with his fielding issues and maybe he needed a little booing to get it together. He's getting the last laugh in the pros now, so I don't feel too bad for him. I wouldn't have booed him but I understood people's frustration. He is doing great things and I'm happy for him, but I'm not sure his fielding tendencies have changed much. The first couple years the Mariners kept taking him out of the lineup due mostly to fielding issues
