Overall of the 350 D1 coaches, only 31 have a longer tenure than Brownell. Brownell has a longer tenure than 91% of D1 coaches. (13 others joined the same year as Brownell and have equal tenure).
Here is a list of the coaches with a longer tenure than Brownell among the major conferences/programs:
Jim Boeheim Tom Izzo Mark Few Mike Brey Leonard Hamilton Scott Drew Bill Self Matt Painter Bob Huggins Jim Calipari Tony Bennett
That’s it. 6 national title winners there. And the others are all very successful for their program.
Coaches with the same tenure as Brownell. (Started same year) from power leagues.
Tad Boyle Greg McDermott Fran McCaffrey Dana Altman
These 4 are more similar to Brownell in terms of success but still all have more tournament appearances than Brownell.
Just some of the stats

Do you think Brad is setup to succeed at that level at Clemson?

Since he’s failed to articulate what he needs for 13 years perhaps it’s time to find someone who can communicate with the AD more clearly. Thanks for pointing out yet another of his deficiencies.

Well in 2017 we were the 41st most valuable program. I cannot find more recent numbers. In 2020 Brad was the 51st highest paid head coach. Do you believe we have been a top 50 program over the last 6 years?

He's currently the 39th highest paid coach, and our program ranks in the mid 70s

No, he has compromising information on somebody in the ministration. Just talk to fans of other teams in the ACC and see what they think about Brownell. They laugh and say "we hope you keep him forever". That's not what you want to hear from your competition.

Actually, it says more about what our administration is doing wrong. JK always point out the lack of commitment to make basketball a winner and he could be right. If our administration really wanted to focus on that, BB would never have had the tenure he has had because we would have moved on a long time ago and we would have upgraded our coaching. I guess the lack of commitment has created this scenario and allowed BB to last as long as he has, much more so than because of the coaching job he has done.

All those "similar" coaches have done better as well.
Please stop the nonsense. Barring a miracle, the 76th ranked tenure is over.

This is impossible to answer but interesting to think about. Does Brad Brownell achieve a decade plus tenure at that short list of schools? He’s always seemed like a bloom where you’re planted guy, so with success I don’t think he’d leave for another program. That removes the resources, recruiting advantages, and fan support aspect that has been argued is holding Brownell back from achieving greater success.
