Brad Brownell had his Conference Call with the ACC Media...

And said that Hunter Tyson had his surgery Friday, and maybe chance that he might be back by the ACC Tourney. He did find it unlikely though
Praying for quick recovery for Hunter.
Brad also mentioned that they should have recruited another front court player now. This is when I hear things like this I get upset about his program. He knows he has to win, and how are things with the transfer portal with little front court depth he had. He always gets me with these indications to media. It comes across like he is never is prepared for injuries and other matters. I thought they would have gone after another transfer also because he had one available. See tweet:

Ok. Can understand not wanting to recruit over your freshman but if you have a spot open?
Is that saying he could have recruited a transfer instead of a freshman, or he didn't think it was right to bring in someone else in addition to the freshman. To me that makes a big difference. If you're counting on that freshman to fill a spot, then imo, kinda has to be one that can play game 1...

Especially when our freshman aren't that special and need a lot of time to develop and still may not be that good.

Ian Schifflin and Middlebrooks are good prospects but Schifflin is more of power forward and Middlebrooks would be still be in HS if he didn't come out early. He is not ready for significant minutes.
I was making the point why didn't Clemson try to bring in another grad transfer who can play center some and relieve PJ. As a Power 5 Coach you have to be ready for injuries and other matters with players. You have 13 scholarships so use them....

Hindsight. He made the decision that he thought best at the time. Tyson getting hurt didn't make his decision wrong. All BB could have done was make the best decision at the time with the known facts. You still can't say his decision was wrong today.

He answered your question but as usual it does not fit your agenda so you wont accept it. He judged that he was better off taking the risk an injury would happen to not recruit over his freshman players. I know in your hindsight world you will dog this decision as terrible cause we had an injury. Had the injury not occurred we would have heard crickets from you. You constant hindsight second guessing trying to make it seem like like CBB is terrible is as tired as the Judge's trolling crap. Maybe y'all are the same guy?

Kind of like K.J. McDaniels blindsiding us leaving after his junior year.

You blast JK as being a BB homer, but you are just as bad the other way. You clearly don't like BB. I don't understand why you feel the need to post multiple times a day about other coaches or how you don't like how he is running the program. Give it a rest.
What he said is a very clear indication of where collegiate athletics is today. Do I bring in another player for one year at the risk of having a younger player transfer? He made the decision that he would rather have Hall, Schiefflein and Middlebrooks. That wasn't a wrong decision because Tyson got hurt.

Why would he give it a rest? He just giving his opinion and he is into Clemson basketball. I think Brad has earned the criticism. It's not like this is year 3. I think it should be ratcheted up.

Then don't bash JK for having an opinion. JK's opinion is no less valid simply because you and he believe differently.

Couldn't agree more. I've seen many times where the two posters used to have good debates. I learned a lot. Although, it was a one way street, when jk was boxed in, he'd avoid answering...
As for nctigs posting, he posted a lot of knowledgeable positive material all off season on recruiting and nailed it back in the early fall saying pj would have a breakout career.
Likewise, ur entitled to your opinion.

Debate is fine. It's this idea that because someone may hold an unpopular opinion means they're wrong that I have an issue with. JK is not wrong because he defends BB, just like you and others aren't right by calling for a change.

Why lowcountry do you feel the need to criticize someone for giving their opinion? Just because he believes different than you gives you no right to try to cancel him out. Look, everyone but maybe you are worn out with Brad and it’s hard to say anything good about his decision making.

My problem with this is simple — if you don’t want to “recruit over your freshmen,” THEN EFFING PLAY THEM!!!!! Schieffelin has gotten some run, but he hasn’t let Middlebrooks play at all hardly. And yet he went out and got a 6’5” “power forward” in Naz Bohannon. Inexcusable roster management

That was my point all along that it was bad roster management. I don't have a problem with Naz Bohannon at 6-5 or 6-6 at PF, but he should not be playing center which he has been forced to play some this season. They just needed another big guy they could use in case of injuries, and that happened.

Wonder if Prosper would've returned had he gotten more PT, assuming that was the reason for the transfer?

that is a good point. I don't know why he left but you had a top 20 recruiting class where two of the three guys that were front court players left after one season. You brought in two guys to play that position but they were not as highly recruited, and one class back. If you count Middlebrooks he skipped his senior year so you could consider him two classes back. I just think as Brad mentioned should have brought at least one more transfer at 6-9 or taller for a season. I know he was just being revealing but you have to say he was probably right. Remember Hall has a hurt foot and can't even participate in practice. what would have happened if Tyson and Hall both go down and can't play at all? They would have been really lost this season.

Jeepers, with both of our freshman as developmental players, why wouldn’t you go after another 6’9”+ player if the roster spot was available? If it’s a one year guy, then little or no impact on current players or upcoming recruiting.

yes, just being insightful what Brad said. He also mentioned when was asked if the backcourt has been inconsistent and I agree with Brad there. that has been the most inconsistent fact with this basketball team by far.

Typical bs post by nctigs. ###### if he does, ###### if he doesn't. If hunter Tyson didn't have a freak accident on the court, we wouldn't be talking about this. If he would have pissedmoff a freshman by bringing someone in, and the wuhan transferred, you would be crying about that too.

In 12+ - BB never developed inside players - mid major ball

The bigs he signed - transferred out. When you don’t pass the ball inside and stay with mid major ball of shooting 3s, how can they develop or why would they stay? Hall has been wonderful. In order to play with the big boys, you must have inside game and rim protectors, then, you can pass outside for open 3s.
