Running the steps this Tuesday...Got 25 tonight plus 2 220s,2 150snand 2 110s...
I am no workout warrior by any means, but I try. If any if you want to get started shoot me a trail. You can meet us at the track. I always walk a mile or so first and you van start with that. There are about 5 of us that are there pretty regularly. And, Monday I will be 65 No medicines, 114 over 68 BP...so..I think it helps...

My advice ….. stay active:
I’ll be 82 in June and I have always been an outdoor guy so staying active will really help you. Watching your diet is a good thing too but I’m no one to give advice there!

I recommend weight training over cardio. It’s proven to be much better for you on numerous studies. You will move better and stronger in you much later years (think what how often you do a squatting movement). Cardio is actually bad for your joints and movement .

Both are better. Do both. Obviously you have no clue as to cardio.

I actually have a lot of knowledge on both. Running stairs is bad for you, elliptical is the best. Running is horrible for you long term, there are tons of studies that prove that.

No, old age is bad long term, arthritis is bad, running and walking is not.
Can I ask a question? You sound like Bulldog, are you his scock?

I was a semi runner/jogger from age 27 til about 55. Ran the Bridge and Peachtree 6 times. That's how i quit smoking, replacing a negative addiction with a positive one. But I was never under 190 pounds during that time. Result: I'm still here but have both hips and both knees replaced and now walk and bike and golf. My theory is that pounding the pavement is generally for smaller bodies. But smoking would have killed me i'm sure so no regrets.

Glad you straightened the picture before posting or I'd have called the rescue squad! Glad you are recovering so quickly and back to being able to run!
