Blow the playbook open, what do we have to loose at this point?

I have noticed other than a play here or there, We only throw passes 5 yards or less.
Out in the flat to the safety valve or receiver is 5 yards and cut in/out and hope and pray he can make a man miss.
Back in the championship days when Scott and Elliot seemed like they didn't have a pass play under 10 yards.
Throw the ball down field and see what happens. If nothing else it will make the defense honest and not sit within 10 yards of the line and have to respect that we will take a shot which in turn could possibly open the running game.
I just don't want to get back in the Rob Spence era when almost every play was a dump out to the flat. We all know how that ended
Off my soap box....I feel better

We’re already back in a Rob Spence era. No creativity no rhythm no plan and I think we’re around 100th best offense. Which actually tracks with what we’re seeing.

or a Justyn Ross or Jordan Leggett. Those guys routinely made contested catches. Which player that you see has made a contested catch? Maybe they can they just don't know they can but they haven't. Plus CK is not DW4 or TL16. Its the level of playmaker that is different now. We'd like to think those 3rd down plays downfield to Mike Williams were playbook gems but they were really just a guy making a play better than the defender.

In his entire college career thus far, nearly 1200 attempts, Cade has averaged 6.9 yards per completion.
The playbook may not be the culprit.

Interesting stat. But is that the case because the high percentage of pass plays called are in that range? I've seen him throw longer passes, just not enough...

I'm afraid we've seen every play in the playbook.

Thought it looked more like an index card. Saw a bunch at the G'ville library 62 years ago. Maybe Riley got one of the discards at an antique store.

It’s a great sentiment but this team doesn’t have the effort and care to execute it.
