I thought it was going to happen just not this soon.

The article earlier today said he had already been to a couple of games last year. I pretty much thought he was sold on Clemson after I read that. Huge pickup. Welcome aboard young man!

Great news! Love the idea of having solid kickers in every aspect of the kicking game. Between him & Potter, we are going to be in great shape in that department.

Big pickup. Bama has used P as a weapon for years

Punting is undervalued. When you have a killer defense, you can dominate field position and help your offense with effective punting. Alabama has made punting a priority and greatly benefited from it. Not many teams can go 80+yards against our D.

Agreed! Unfortunately special teams have been neglected since Catman and Pinion left. It's good to see us try to get elite kickers again. I know Spence was very high rated for a kicker but he seems to have hit the wall.

Welcome home young man!!! Can’t wait to watch you flip the field when we need it the most.
Last great punter I can remember is Dale Hatcher. Sounds like he has the game to follow in his footsteps!!!

i've been waited a long time to be excited about our kickers

and now we have BT Potter and Swanson coming in!! this hearkens back to when we had Chris Gardocki and David Treadwell... hopefully Swanson learns the hang time of Gardocki and Potter has the accuracy of Treadwell, we won't have many kicking woes!!

Yep, totally agree. Punting and kicking has been an up and down affair in recent years. It would be awesome to have a solid kicker and punter at the same time, which it appears we might have a shot at in the near future.

This is great news. I couldn’t believe all the comments from earlier today saying what a bad choice it was to offer a punter a full scholly.
You’re right, bama used one for years as other teams. Gives you much more options. Could have used one jan 1. You need a great punter, especially when you have an offense like we did last year.

Yep , he was a darn good one too. As joe said. Good looking hang time which is what I remember about Hatcher. Maybe 5-6 seconds or something.

Not only am I impressed with his distance, he has an excellent hang time, giving our coverage time to get down the field.

While all positions are important, I think too many schools, not just Clemson, have neglected the importance of the kicking game. Happy to see us going after talented kids rather than hope to get lucky with a walk-on or a converted soccer player.

Swanson's type of punting, and Potter's type of Kick offs surly helps in winning championships. Field position wins games!!!

Really starting to get worried about the future of our offense if we are having to go out and sign the #1 punter in the country!
