Now we follow the rules and don’t use NIL to recruit players. Who thinks we should break the rules?
The portal criticism I get. You can reserve 3-5 schollys a year instead of giving them to walk on who are not starters and kickers and use those spots to grab a few portal players to fill immediate needs. That is just smart roster management.

Dabo was pretty darn obligated to his son. Did not go out and get a transfer QB to take over for DJ. Big Dave he stuck with DJ too long. So there is that.

Why does he need to say it at all. His son portaled out already. Not sure why he needs to comment on his son’s former coach. And I think that we should be using the portal. I think there are things we need to change. I don’t think the father of a former player (who transferred out after a ridiculous amount of support) needs to comment on anything Clemson related. Seems to me he is enjoying us losing to Duke. That’s his right. Tweeting about it seems cheap to me.

Because people have the right to say whatever they want. It doesn't make it cheap. Cheap implies it's either misleading or it's below the belt. This was a factual statement directly addressing a reason Clemson lost. If anything, it's standing up for the players who chose to hitch their trailers to Clemson instead of blindly doting on the multimillionaire megalomaniac.

Not sure if this is to me, but if I was DJ’s dad I would congratulate him and Oregon State. I wouldn’t feel the need to tweet about his former team. Yes a lot of Clemson fans treated his son poorly. Dabo did not. It’s his right. Feels cheap to me. That’s my opinion.

Hey Big Dave and anyone else who is reading this.
Dabo is the Clemson HC and he is going to run the program his way and if his boss, who is not you or anyone else, does like it, he can fire him. Fans can and will beach and moan, that's what fans do, including me, but we are not in charge of hiring or firing anyone at Clemson.
If the HC had weathered criticism from fans for 2 years about my son, and gave him full support as the QB, I'd be supporting him 100% and not running off with diarrhea of the mouth.

I’m not happy with Dabo and how he’s seemed complacent at times and not willing to adapt (there is a way to use the TP and keep your culture and program intact). Monday night was all on him and his coaches.
However, Big Dave is a petty self-absorbed ####### taking cheap shots at a man who did everything in his power to help DJ. He also took shots at Streeter when he was fired. The man is toxic.
You’re right about the NIL. Dabo is not against it, never has been. But this will go viral and recruits see this and believe his bull ####. Big Dave wants to pay back Clemson.

I missed it where Dabo got mad about DJU leaving Clemson in favor of the portal after CK2 won the starting QB job after we beat UNC in ACC Championship game.
Did Dabo get mad about this?
If not, then why would Big Dave suggest that Dabo wasn’t concerned about the best interests of the players?
Numerous players have left Clemson FB team via the portal; the vast majority of those who left were in situations (for one reason or another) when future PT was likely to be very limited. The large majority of these players were not needed as players for Clemson FB team but potentially useful for a different team; thus the portal was used for the mutual benefit of both player and Clemson.
What am I missing?

If PFF ratings mean anything, then CK2’s performances vs TN and Duke were the worst since DJU’s performance against UGA in the season opener.
Think about it … CK2’s performances against powerhouse defense teams Duke and TN (remember how many points S.Carolina put on TN at Willy Brice last year), whereas DJU’s only occasion of a worse PFF rating was against cup-cake eventual CFP champion UGA.
Let’s cool it about past QB’s ‘worst ever QB’ talk. We need to gird ourselves to support our current QB if by some chance another substandard performance or three takes place before end of 2023 season.
We need to support the guy(s) who are playing for us now, and not vent our frustrations with hyperbolic outbursts.

Dabo's obligation is to student-athletes, not athletes. He made that clear Day One and pretty much every day since. Used to be we appreciated that around here. And what does Big Daddy know about what a 'best fit for a program' is? Is he whining because Dabo didn't bring in a portal receiver to help DJ not look like Doofus Juice when he threw the ball for two seasons? And one of them was from his HS last year. C'mon people.
Our school does expect to win and win big, especially now that Coach has shown you can do that here lately. Fresh off Another Clemson Championship shouldn't be that lost on so many on here. Losing to Duke sucks under any circumstances. And it was a legit L bigly. No bueno. But it's Week 1 folks, and we gotta lot of season left and some real footballs ahead.

Looking at the loyalty here I assume your all single because nobody would ever be perfect enough.
Losing a game isn’t when you quit and give up on the ones who got you there, on the map at the top of college football.
Nobody’s been a better coach than Dabo with the recruiting he’s had, why do you guys now think he’s being stubborn or not listening to your opinions, it’s because he was hired for the job and has done an incredible job. Dabo knows how to coach better than any coach we have ever had or come close to having.
Appreciate what you have or you’ll lose it and really have problems….
Y’all can’t be serious thinking you know better than one of the best all time.
