Best Fit for a Program

Good morning 🌞
As a former Guidance Counselor and Football Coach, I used to advise my football players as students first.
* Does the school offer a major that you want to pursue ?
* Do you like the campus?
* Do you like the surrounding area?
* Does the school offer the social life you want?

If you answer yes to these questions, you probably have a school to add to your list of potential places you would want to attend.
I STRESSED that if you got hurt, and could never play football again, would you still attend this school? If the answer was yes, you have a good fit.
Unfortunately, most football players are not advised this way as far as Power 4 football is concerned. Generational wealth is now figured into the equation as the #1 priority. I do understand this thought process. However, this is not a decision any longer about long range goals.
The majority of these players will not get NIL opportunities , go to the NFL, etc. So what do they have after this “college experience “ is over?
Have a great day and spend some time with someone you love! GO TIGERS 🐅

Those players are frankly a dime a dozen. Getting those are fairly easy. It's the elite NIL/Portal guys that can take programs like Vandy and Indiana and make them giant beaters in a short time is what we're missing

Thanks to the TNET Grammar Police correcting me, I do get an occasional assist with AI to clean up my post. The talking points are mine but my typing, grammar and spelling isn't what it used to be so get a little help to put out a better post.

You are correct. This is where College Football needs to quit trying to project itself as anything other than a minor league for the NFL.
I have still not figured out how these players remain eligible transferring from school to school so often. Regular students have to jump through so many hoops to do the same.

As long as they get PT and perform very well at the college level

the alumni base of any SEC programs has your back when things fall through. you're basically one call away from an alumn that will hire you into an entry level role (with or without a degree.) you just need to be a good and self motivated person at the end of the day
