Dabo is loyal to his returning starters (good or bad). Bryant is our QB heading into 18.
Also, don't forget about Hunter Johnson.
But in the end it all begins and ends with the OL. {Bama's DL beat the crap our of our OL last night. #99 looked like a man among boys.}

I would hope to see a rotation of the two if that’s the case.
I love Bryant and what he did this season but if TL is as advertised, Bryant should be playing second fiddle by a mile.

Trevor Lawrence eats Esperienced 12-2 college qb’s for breakfast.
And the Heisman as pre-workout snack.

Did you watch the Syracuse game this year? Bryant was playing on one foot and we couldn't do anything on offense, and Dabo still wouldn't give the backups a chance. It was only when Bryant had a concussion that a backup got to play, and then it was Cooper. When Cooper didn't do much, he wouldn't play Johnson.
If you think Lawrence will come in and start at any point next year, barring extremely poor play by Bryant or a serious injury to Bryant, you're crazy.

of quarterbacks. He only threw ONE interception last season against very good competition. One. He makes laser throws on the run, in the pocket, rolling out, you name it. He can read and diagnose a defense (something KB still can't do). Sorry, there is no way we keep him off the field.

TL is going to walk away as the starting qb.
He will get hos degree and is a 3 year guy, of there ever was one. Love what KB has done and is a great young man, but will be back up unless they figure out another way to get him on the field. We will most likely see a transfer or 2 in the QB competition, which no one could blame them for, ZC won't see the field again except maybe some cleanup duty

Lawrence is good but I promise you he doesn’t have the guts Fromm has. Fromm is the hammer. Cool as ice and a straight up gamer.
Fields will be riding pine for 3 years.

Seriously? What a troll.....Murray owns the SEC career records for yards (13166) completions (921) and Tds (121)
TLaw hasn't even taken a snap in college ball and you have him in the NFL....sounds a little delusional.
As great as he was Murray never got The Dawgs to the natty (close in 2012).....more especially as a "true freshman."

Shouldn't a guy that started all 4 years be the record holder in those statistics? To me that doesn't mean much. If DW4 had come back this year he would own records like that as well.
But to be fair to that guy's point, he didn't really do anything in the NFL.

Btw, Lawrence & DW4 are 1, 2 in your state record books. I like TL's chances. He is #1 AMIRITE ? Troll LOL!!

I don't get your argument. I never said Fromm had a NFL arm. Jake Fromm is a true freshman who has just guided his team to the national title game. The kid has 3 more years in Athens and I couldn't be happier. What he does or doesn't accomplish in the NFL has zero bearing right now. There are literally dozens of former college QB's many former Heisman winners who never succeeded in the pros. Neither of us know at this time whether or not Fromm or Lawrence will succeed in the NFL but both definitely have the potential.
TLaw is ranked #1 in several services as is Justin Fields. As far as college potential is concerned you're splitting hairs. Who knows how each will pan out but Fromm has set the bar pretty high for each of these young men in the college game.
I will say this.....if TLaw was a UGA in coming freshman.....he'd be riding the bench behind Fromm just like Jacob Eason who has that NFL arm. It ain't all about throwing the ball... which Jake has proven.

I agree. Anyone who has watched him play for any amount of time would be crazy to disagree. Naturally, he has to learn the system, and that is a chunk to chew on. But while he may not start at the beginning of the season, it's difficult to see how you keep that kind of talent under wraps for very long. The man-kid is a very special talent. Definitely on the DW level.

Bryant will have to regress significantly or, more likely, have a significant injury in order to allow anyone else a chance to get meaningful snaps in practice or in games.
Our OL has been lackluster for a long time. We need serious help here, and I don't know if the problem is recruiting, coaching, or both. But I'm not willing to say, "Alabama has a great defense" and move on. If we want to be be elite, we need a great OL, and last night showed that we aren't close. This was more than just a bad game or an off night, it was total domination.

That goes beyond football to the heart of what's best for them. They didn't come to Clemson to be favored and coddled they came here to grow into men. They only wait their turn if they can't beat the guy in front of them on the depth chart.
Look across our roster and tell me how many positions start undeserving upperclassmen. Look across the rosters of each NCAA football program and tell how they compare to Clemson's on starters vs upperclassmen.
Bama was loaded for bear. We'd put 1100 yards on what everyone in the sports media claimed was the two best of all times defense, we got the bear both times. This time they got the bear. The only way to avoid the bear is quit hunting.

Was Watson an EE? If not ....there you go. Is TLaw an EE? If he isn't present this spring he has literally zero chance of play in 2018.

Supedawg51, Yes DW4 was an early enrollee, many people forget that Deshaun was recovering from a cracked collar bone injury during the spring. This is why DW4 didn't play in the spring game and into the summer, which is why Cole Stoudt really got the starting job at the beginning of that season once Chad Kelly was dismissed. I believe the only reason why the coaches started Cole Stoudt was to ensure that their new star DW4 was really healed. Then when DW4 started he broke his finger on a slide and shortly thereafter tore his ACL. Trevor Lawrence is also an early enrollee. Here is the YouTube video of the 2014 spring game: see the first 2 mins they talk about Deshaun and show him in a brace. https://youtu.be/wINuAMyjTxU

Thanks CUfirstlady, I'd forgotten about DW's injury. Since TLaw is an EE all things are possible....he's certainly talented enough to see the field but there's a lot of talent ahead of him. GLuck!

Yes, Watson was an early enrollee, but was injured in spring practice and missed most of it. Lawrence will enroll next week and will hopefully have a full spring and summer to get ready.

Bottom line, you don't understand football
The OL can't make the QB step up in the pocket or find the open receiver or make adjustments at the line

Where does all this stuff about Dabo being loyal to starters/upperclassmen come from? It's like a lot of people take Stoudt starting the first 3 games with Watson, and use that to say it's what Dabo always does. Those people forget that Watson was hurt during the spring that season.
I don't see how it's crazy to go with a Senior QB to open up the season on the road against Georgia over a true freshman who missed a ton of practice time with an injury. Watson became the man after what, 2 or 3 series in the FSU game which was the 3rd game of the season?
What other examples have their been of more talented underclassmen riding the bench?
