Tailgating - Deep Cycle Marine Battery Recommendations?

Aug 14, 2013, 6:15 PM

Hey guys,

Getting ready for tailgating and looking to purchase a deep cycle marine battery(over a generator). I'm kind of a novice when it comes to this stuff so I was wondering if anyone who has done this already has any recommendations on which battery/charger/etc. to get?

So far, I've been to Walmart and found this guy here:

Thoughts?

Sam's/Costco has some too. No matter which one don't count on it lasting over a year or two. Get a nice power inverter for it, and a decent battery charger for between game charges

Go to KMart and get a Die Hard

Trickle charges kinda make them last longer and don't put directly on cement put it on a board. Also get a sealed battery where it won't leak like the ones w caps

What exactly is a trickle charge?

Thanks for the tips on the caps and the board!

Optima deep cycle battery. I use it a few times a year for trolling and tailgating.
