Reminds me of the Orange bowl last year, I have turned the channel on the tigers 3 times since 1974, last night was one of them. I can't put my finger on it but something is amiss with the basketball team.

The "something" is players. They can't defend and they can't shoot. Most HS teams could have gotton more than 10 points in the first half.

From what I saw it was lack of effort. No willingness at all to guard the ACC's best shoter, no effort to get the ball inside to Booker, no effort the get open. If I was the coach I would have pulled all the starters and let the bench guys play.

If Clemson University won't do the things necessary to compete for basketball championships in the ACC year after year, then we ought to drop basketball. It's ridiculous for Clemson to play basketball in a league like the ACC if they are not going to try to win championships. I'm tired of it. Building a new, larger coliseum isn't the answer. We can't fill up Littlejohn.

Something drastic needs to be done that will put Clemson in a position to annually compete for the ACC championship. If Clemson is not willing to do that, then they ought to give up basketball. How can we do it in football, although it took forever, and not basketball? We are to ACC basketball as Duke and Wake Forest are to ACC football. We are dragging the league down.

We do not have the players to compete successfully in the ACC.
