Yes, but football, and mens basketball to a much lesser degree are the only two relevant college sports. All the others make little more than a blip on the sports radar and aren't worth investing money into them.

Tell that to all the dedicated student athletes who participate in them.

let's not diminish our other sports. We are quite good in rowing, golf, tennis and getting our groove back in soccer.
I'm as disappointed as anyone in basketball. I think this year's baseball team has promise - it's early.

have enjoyed basketball in the past when Clemson has done well (Sweet 16 etc.), my excitement pales in comparison to watching Tiger football. So if one sport has to be our only top program, I'm really glad it's football.
Of course, it could be that attitude that is holding down the other programs. If the powers that be are only focused on football, that could be the problem.

Would you rather be Kentucky, Kansas, UConn,or Duke?

I wouldn't.
Very few schools are great, or even good, at multiple sports.
You could be Stanford or UVA who win the Sears Cup or whatever it's called every year because they have dominant field hockey, lacrosse, and water polo programs. Good for them, but no thanks.
One Clemson home football gameday on a rainy cold day >>>>> every sporting event in a year combined at UVA.
