You’re a good guy. We appreciate sanity and people who love sports.
A quick story. I was at FSU’s first trip to Death Valley as an ACC member. FSU fans were blown away by the hospitality. Most claimed they were used to fighting their way out of parking lots and were the focus of vitriol and hate. They couldn’t believe that almost every tailgate they passed they were offered food or a beer and genuine great conversation. That’s the Clemson way. We understand everyone can’t be a Tiger. We also take pride in being gentlemen and gentlewomen.

…for extreme transgressions. Make us go get the switch, that is. My brother and I once did something or other that made us both eligible, and she sent us out to get switches. My brother brought in the tiniest thing he could find, while I chose a hefty stick as thick as my wrist. When we came in, to my delight, Mom burst out laughing at mine, while applying the whip-like twig to my brother with gusto. One of my favorite memories - my brother remembers it too, but not as a favorite, haha.
For the record, I didn’t carry this tradition forward with my kids, and they turned out great. But it was what it was back in the day, and I turned out okay too.
