Anyone worrying about our offensive recruiting?

Jun 28, 2022, 3:00 PM

Absolutely love this class so far we got some real dudes and aren’t close to being finished. Also I believe Noble Johnson should’ve been one of the top WR of this class but is kinda shocking at the lack of getting our top guys at WR/RB/TE. I know we have a bunch of young guys at each position wonder if we are focusing more on defense this year with the seniors leaving and going to hit offense hard next year??

If the defense is a beast, who needs offense?

Because defense, with all the new rule changes, can't really win championships any more? Even the best defenses will allow points. Offense wins games now.

We do. Remember last year when the D played 85% of time, to the point of extreme exhaustion and injury?

I don’t think worrying is the right word. We have a great QB, two TEs, soon to be three really good linemen and a really good looking WR. Need one more WR and a solid RB . Still work to do but shaping up nicely if we can the right few guys to finish the class

It never fails. We succeed in one area and the attention MUST be refocused to complain about something else. With months to go yet in the summer and about half a year to go prior to the FIRST signing day, do you not think some patience and trust is in order - and, maybe, a few good offensive games (new OC and all). And, if we do not have the recruiting year on the offensive side of the ball that MJC desires, should we assume that we're inept, that Dabo's lost his touch, that CJ and Tyler and Thomas just don't have the "it" factor. What a crock of bull-tonkies.

It never fails. The everything is unicorns and rainbows crowd are constantly complaining about anyone who has the to state a concern on a message board. If everything is perfect why do you need to visit t-net to see the latest updates? Do you not have faith that everything is going great?

I’m not complaining in the slightest was legitimately just asking a question. Absolutely love the class we have and know we will add to it.

MJ isn’t part of the everything is terrible, hand-wringing crowd. And yes , MJ, I agree that the recruiting focus this year is on defense because we will lose a lot more on the defensive side of the ball after this year (3 projected first rounders). We are not losing nearly as much on offense so you are probably correct that the 2024 recruiting class should be more concentrated on offense.

Absolutely stupid post

I think our offensive line haul is going to be really good. I love Noble Johnson and both our TE commits. And Vizzina is legit.

Having said that, we definitely need another WR. And I believe that we desperately need an immediate impact player at RB.

Agree. Also won't speak for mjc but imo worry not necessarily the right word. A bit concerning, perhaps. And the only reason to me is the highly rated WR, TE, and RB recruits we wanted have committed verbal to other schools.

But as you say, we got top guys at the other offense positions, a steal hopefully in noble and a couple potential good TE that fit our offense.

If we get Sewell and Owens after landing Reed I will be happy as all get out think it was time for Austin to take over he’s being life back to that OL room

That makes sense. And landing a couple of solid O linemen this year will make recruiting running backs easier next year.

We have enough rb's for this year and next but we really need a couple of studs in '24 & 25.

With a new OC and DC, I am more amazed by the success of our defensive recruiting than worried about our offensive recruiting.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Given how our offense performed last year it's understandable

Jun 28, 2022, 8:34 PM

that there would be some hesitation by recruits to jump on board. We need a bounce back year on the field to help with the recruiting efforts.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Any great WR or RB must consider options

Jul 1, 2022, 2:41 PM

The QB play was shaky last year and OL has been that way for a while. I believe this year will be a big deal to both WR & RB recruiting moving forward. If these 2 positions show a big improvement, the Tigers will have their choice of ‘24 signees.
