I'm going for a fitting in Atlanta Friday and curious if anyone here has tried them and their impression of them.

I had a PXG driver for a short period of time and got rid of it. Most of the PXG staff players, including Kyle Stanley, only carry the irons and wedges. Generally speaking, the driver and fairways have not received favorable reviews, but the reviews of the irons and wedges have been mostly positive.

several of the guys I play with have the irons and both seem to like them -- I have never hit one, but have seen some ads running lately with good prices -- good luck**

Marshall, that is pretty much what I have been hearing too. Most of the chatter is about the irons. But my driver is relatively old and would not mind getting a new one ..... if I can hit it better. I'll probably take a couple of my irons, driver, and 3 wood and see if I hit the PXGs better. I have been playing with Taylormade R7 irons and an R11s driver. I am thinking of starting the irons at 5 - PW and a couple of hybrids ...... haven't heard much about the PXG and have never carried hybrids in my bag.
I have been verified as a veteran on their website, so I will get a pretty significant discount.

I always have had good results with Taylor Made Drivers and Fairway woods (metals). Never tried the PXG clubs.

I play Callaway and Ping, but the PXG irons do look good. Never have swung one though. Good luck!

I have not, but agree with the other poster that their irons are received favorably. I don't know their prices or models but I can recommend Srixon ZX5 irons. Always been a Mizuno guy before but when I had my fitting last year the lead out time was 12 weeks. The Srixon's were 2 weeks and they feel every bit as nice as the Mizunos I tried. Recently I ordered an approach wedge and it took about a week from Cali to East coast.

I have used them for at least six months. Would not use any else! I had bought three sets in four years until I tried PXG’s. - you will find them easy to hit and very forgiving - and I was 76 in January! Been playing since I was 15 and they are the best ever!

Thanks …… we are about the same age and I no longer worry about how. far I hit my clubs. Funny though, I hit my irons just about s far as I always have but have lost a lot of length with my driver. Before my Taylormade irons, I played with Pings for 25 years, so I do not experiment a lot with clubs. I carried a e iron with my Pings, and started with a 4. Iron with my Taylormades and thinking about starting with the 5 (of maybe even the 6) with the PXGs. I’ll let you know how the fitting went.

Getting a professional fitting is great idea - my handicap went from single digits to upper teens when I got to my 60’s and that was very discouraging to say the least - I am back to mid-teens with the PXG’s but I am also practical - I am as good as I can get period and length off the tee has really disappeared! Good luck with the new clubs and let us know how you play with them - by June you will know if it was a good decision - hit them long and straight!!

Thanks CWP …… I pulled the trigger today on a bag full (14 clubs) ….. also came with a bag and hat …… free advertising for PGX. The guy fitting me was outstanding and made me very comfortable. I hope I know before June if they are going to help because I have a golf trip planned at the end of May to Sand Hill Golf Club in Nebraska …… one of my favorites in the entire world.

Where in Nebraska? I’m retired in Florida and play at least 3 times a week - we have 3 1/2 courses here in Timber Pines so I rotate all the time - best choice me and my wife could have made. It will take a few rounds to get used to the new clubs but you will appreciate them and get to know the PXG reps quickly! Congratulations and enjoy!

Sand Hills is in western Nebraska about 45 miles from North Platte near Mullen ……. All sand hill terrain. All the sand hills are covered with vegetation so it is not like a desert. When playing you feel more like you are on links land such as Ireland or Scotland. Check it out on Google. This is about my 6th trip since opening day about 25 years ago. It’s private and not easy to get on or get there. I will probably fly into Lincoln and drive 5 hours with a friend.
