How could it be 100% in 3 years? If it could be broken, why not now? I could see some kind of negotiating to get it lower than $120 mil plus tv rights thru 2036. But at this point ESPeNis holds all the cards. My guess is 50% by 2030. Maybe some of the desirable schools have nothing to lose and go all out lawsuit. But I think it would be settled out of court for a negotiated amount.

You don’t go down the path of exiting until you have an invite to go elsewhere. The invite is still a ways off while other things get aligned in my opinion. It may take several more years.

That certainly makes sense. I hadnt considered that. I dont know what the SEC/B1G split is on here, but I have been pleasantly surprised with the amount of people who favor the B1G or are indifferent. But still at least 80% favor SEC which is completely understandable. I hope, for selfish reasons, you guys, FSU, NC, GT, Miami, ND, and Oregon join the B1G. That would make it 8 really good football teams which would certainly rival the SEC heavyweights. The B1G needs to get in the SE and needs to further open up recruiting in Ga and Fl. It may be a pipe dream, but its the best case scenario at this point.

I think dissolving the conference is more likely.

But, I think there are so many parties involved in negotiations that there might be a way that ESPN agrees to give up the GOR voluntarily.
I have no idea of the specifics of how this will all end up. But, I am very confident that by 2027, maybe earlier, Clemson, FSU and several other ACC teams will not be playing in the ACC.

It is going to be a slow step process. Having it be the major talking point at the ACC meetings is a big part of that process. Now they have come out with a post-season revenue sharing plan that will give more (how much more?) of the post-season revenue to the teams that bring it in. It wont be nearly enough to knock a dent in the deficit but its one of the steps. Most of the time, the biggest surprises in conference realignment happen in silence then BOOM. The big announcement is made. When you are hearing chatter.. dont expect anything. When you hear nothing for a long time... it could be soon.
