So many game sunder Brent we had to our score the opponent
Cade is the problem.
Sorry Cade. But you can get better
I’ll put it like this, what are the season records for the 2016 and 2018 team if you put Cade on both those teams.
2016? We’re losing to Nancy State for da****nnnn sureeee. Pitt, more.
Only a couple of better plays and none of you are arguing for anybody to lose their job.
And I don’t think the Syracuse game goes like that if we are 3-0. And have a good QB
Yes I edited the title

Sorry but not even close. Our biggest problem is bad coaching, followed by a truly inept offensive line, and then a sucka$$ qb. Just saying.....

Cade is the problem. He doesn’t see open receivers and overthrows them when he does. He definitely lost the Georgia Tech game singlehanded. I don’t know what a coach can do about a scared quarterback who doesn’t want to stand in the pocket and take a hit after throwing the ball. He runs backwards to the right all the time. I can’t wait till he is gone.

I can’t remember. Did Cade play the first 10 minutes of the Syracuse game?

Prove me wrong.
There are fingers pointing at two dozen different things, and being bored I thought to summarize the season to date. I’m just gonna throw out some commentary based on what I’ve seen. It may seem long but in reality it only hones in on the very most important concerns.
LSU: Running backs had 9 carries all night nonetheless there were both basic and game changing pass plays to be had unfortunately we missed at least a dozen that night including two misses on 3rd and 4th, the last two plays of the game. In spite of the mediocre day we were having at QB, we had a guy wide open for a game tying TD on 3rd down, and 1st down opportunities on 4th down.
Defense did give up a 7 point lead but overall holding LSU to about 350 and 17 points is winning football and placing the game in the hands of the offense.
I’m just gonna say we played well enough to win at every position.. with one exception. Otherwise 1-0.
TROY: Wacky weather delay and the game started out in the twilight zone. Broken pass coverage for their quick 7. The defense gave up that and 3 more points all day. Obviously winning football. The offense was a hot mess including the tip int 6 for Troy. It was 16-0 and things looked dire for sure. Fortunately Cade picked it up and Randall had almost a 100 yards in the 2nd half. Outscored them 27-0 with 24 in the 2nd half.
Other than that funky first half, we did what we were supposed to do. QB included. 2-0.
GT: We had the game in our hands going into the 4th qtr and then the defense looked gassed giving up the late scoring drives. Disappointing for sure. Even tho the late TD drives were a disappointment, holding GT to 24 should have been enough. Thing is, we missed literally a dozen or so pass plays, again, and hit even half of those and the 4th qtr looks completely different with a nice lead.
I’m just gonna say we played well enough to win at every position.. with one exception. Otherwise 3-0.
SYRACUSE: defense was gashed early and often. Simply no excuse for that performance. NONE. They did tighten up some in the 2nd half, but this issue must be IMMEDIATELY addressed. I don’t know if it’s coaching or players on the DL, but I’m leaning towards both. The LB level saw some concerns too, but the boys up front were treated like rag dolls. Didn’t see any fight out of that group, especially for the first half. Other than Heldt, does anyone even want to play to “best is the standard”? I’m gonna stop there with the defense. The running game was getting nice chunks but what we hoped we wouldn’t see again was rearing its ugly head right out of the gate. Missed plays and opportunities. Gave the ball back to SU and they continued marching on the defense. Got in a hole meaning more passing for us. Left SEVERAL opportunities on the field to move the ball and score including some monstrous game changing plays. Randall showed out. It would have been nice to hit some of those pass plays. Hit that stuff as expected and the whole game can flip.
We were gashed early and often AND we missed numerous pass plays, again. Hit some of those simple plus game changing plays and who knows.
3-1, possibly 4-0.
I know and recognize there are other things of concern, but i think the season can be broken down that simply.

IF you think Cade is the only problem, then you are delusional. This team is soft getting pushed off the ball on both sides of the ball, that was never a problem under Brent. Not having a true homerun threat at RB is a huge. How many times did etienne break one to the house from long distance to bail out the offense? No defense respects our run game anymore because we dont have elite speed there anymore. There are way more problems than CADE. Coaching or lack thereof is the biggest issue.

Couldn't agree more. The OL doesn't pass protect and Cade knows it. The receivers don't get open enough and when they do it's a crap shoot whether or not they'll catch it. If it's a contested catch they absolutely won't. The RBs are usually dodging defenders as soon as they receive the hand off. Cade isn't playing well but he's not getting any help either.

Also of note: varying opinions can not be proven right or wrong in matters such as this. If you want to use numbers as the basis for saying the coaching is up to par, Dabo fired a guy last year with a better rated defense. Then there is the fact Dabo himself has stated it’s a coaching failure.
I’m sure you’ll say he only said that to defer blame away from players, but here is another fact: 7 days prior Dabo gave a pompous speech about how great he is (was) and dared the university to fire him. (Unprompted and unprovoked I might add). Those are diametrically opposing statements. I guess the first speech he didn’t care about protecting players’ feelings.
Cade is a huge issue, no doubt. If he were playing like the number one draft pick we’d probably be 3-1, maybe 4-0. If he were above average but not a superstar we are 2-2 or 3-1. But you find 6-10 plays a game and play “what if’s”. Last time I looked, zero point zero QBs are batting 1.000, or ever have.
Cade is a problem. But far, far from the only one.

That’s a big, big chunk of it. I think coaching is at the bottom of it though (the reason Cade is playing so badly).

and even if it’s innately Cade, the coaches selected a QB to recruit who doesn’t have moxie, can’t read and react quickly, tends to panic, and tbh, can’t really make plays with his legs when things break down (which from Cade’s perspective, is almost all the time).

@dbwhite
I don’t know
We thought that of DJ. The coaching being most of it. It was a lot. But not most it.
DJ was just a bust himself
I think Cade is the same. Just better than DJ obviously.

Go back and watch the games.Cade is running for his life on every snap and I know he gets frustrated. You have defenders running free into the backfield.Cade is our QB and we have to let Matt Luke protect him. He isn't a great QB but he is better that the ones behind him.GO CADE AND GO TIGERS!!!!

GT loss was a matter of throwing an INT at the 5 yard line
Cade is super talented and can do great things
But he makes losing plays in the midst of it. That’s the thing.
The first major sign was FSU 2023 on that scoop and score for FSU. Not totally Cade’s fault, but a great QB eludes that disaster in some way. Maybe protect the ball better?

I think it’s just Cade and DJ and about their own flaws. Especially during a game.
And you can throw all over Texas when they’re backed up, but if you make the type of turnovers Cade makes, you’re considered bad.
The pick-6 against Troy from our own 2-yard line? The GT INT at the 5 yard line?
I’m beating a dead horse

Actually Deshaun had a terrible game against Nancy state in 2016. Probably the only reason that one was even close. Besides the fact they targeted Wayne Gallman and knocked him out.

100% should’ve lost that game anyways. The FG Miss was surreal. Right down the pipe opportunity.
But if Cade were QB, probably doesn’t even come down to a FG for NC State. They would’ve just won comfortably against us.
Just like Louisville 2024. Just like Syracuse. Getting scored on at home has happened.
But we don’t have a QB who can score fast enough. And be consistent in that matter.

A bad QB… And from all reports another bad QB who has been in development now for a third year. And a bad QB who quit the team in 2022. All highly rated recruits. Sooner or later you start to realize something, unless you just don’t want to.
