however lil ole Clemson wants to claim to be a big boy program but has allowed this debacle for 5 straight years… it’s doesn’t matter how many National Titles a coach wins… if they stop producing it’s time to go.
I was 100 percent behind Dabo when the slide first started and knew he would correct it and correct it fast. I also figured he would conform with the changing times. He’s done neither.
I believe that if he does nothing at the end of this season and has the same results next season, Clemson needs to show him the door.

Won the ACC and went to Playoffs last year. Been in Playoffs 6 times! Pretty sure he deserves a year or two to regroup. Kelly hadnt made the playoffs on 4yrs at LSU.
Im not jumping off the Dabo train, but he definitely needs to change tracks soon.

— Dabo wouldn’t have sniffed the playoffs last year if Clemson were in the SEC.
Dabo’s time has passed. It’s just a question of how long it takes for the PTB to make a change.

I checked the record book and we were not in the SEC and made the playoffs. So your point is your own speculation as you assume all things the same just change the conference name. But reality is you are what your record says you are.

Clemson is in the SEC footprint but plays in the inferior ACC. Clemson’s in-state rival is in the SEC and just played Bama and is about to play Ole Miss and A&M. Meanwhile, Clemson is worried about Duke.
Clemson was as good as anyone in the Watson-Lawrence years but hasn’t done anything outside the lowly ACC since. Until this year, being in the ACC has softened the fall from the elite.
Is anything I’ve said inaccurate?

People keep saying if we were in the SEC(?), but they forget to mention if we were in the SEC we would have more money and probably much more 5 star players! Not being in the SEC has slowly sent us down the recruiting rankings over the last several years.

While I’m vehemently against Dabo resorting to defending his past record as an excuse for Clemson’s in-process plain awful season in 2025, at the least he HAS shown that his teams were able (again, in the past) win it all. And, again excepting this year, Clemson FB’s decline over the past 4 2/3rds seasons, we’ve still had good to very good seasons since the start of 2021 sesson.
Brian Kelly had two very good seasons during his time at LSU. Nothing great. Just very good. LSU is already done, as far as high level SEC aspirations, for 2025.
Comparing LSU / Brian Kelly’s situation vs Clemson / Dabo’s situation lacks the overall success -&- recent success similarities.
Dabo should get one more season to show that Clemson can rise to, at the least, Top 3 status in the ACC. Nothing less than that should be considered to keep him from being in a ‘last chance’ shot in 2027.
Also, by end of 2027 season, the buyout of Dabo’s contract will be of manageable expense.

I agree with you on the LSU and Clemson comparison, but next year is going to be rough. If we expect things to change, next year isn’t it.

If he isn’t willing to embrace the portal , expect the same Results next year because every acc school has caught up and passed Clemson mostly. I wish we could get a proven mobile qb since we suck at running the ball. I miss a qb like Watson was. That’s just my take on it. If Vizzina is qb next year , I’ll call another crappy year. Don’t base his performance against a crappy smu defense , they lost to wake forest , 😂

Wake Forest would beat us this year. Long ago, a loss to Wake Forest opened the door for Dabo … lose to the Coots this year (highly likely) and it will be 3 out of the last 4 ..the first two, we had the better team, were just out coached. Now, we’re out coached in every game.

Can't just embrace the portal. It will do no good if the coaching isn't there to make them better. I can buy into we missed on a recruit here and there, it happens. This is ridiculous. Changes have to be made at critical individual positions. Mainly WR, DE, DB, and RB.

To the OP…”Bless your heart”
With the 62 pulse I’m figuring you spend most of your time posting negative contents and probably not even a Clemson fan.

How many conference and national championships have the coaches who were fired already this season won, combined, at the schools that fired them?
The situations are not the same.

Clemson doesn't have the money to pay $67 million for his buyout. While I agree with your statement that the program has been underachieving for 5 years, the administration only sees not making the ACC championship or the playoff in one season. I know we haven't made the playoff in more than 1 of those 5 years before you correct me about that.
If he doesn't adapt this off-season, Clemson may not have another choice after next season.

Move along to another program if you can’t support a COACH that has won 2 National Championshios for Clemson. There is a program in the middle of the state which fits the pathetic attitudes of some “fans” on this board , though not quite sure that even they will sink so low!! Clemson will be just fine without the little cry babies on this board!!!
