I say he runs around a 4.7, and the coaches know that too. He says he heard it on ESPN. Anyone can see he doesn't have blazing speed. Pretty sure he ran a 4.8-4.9 in HS.
Still awesome tho.

His motions are very fluid. He as one announcer put it "glides down the field". He's a very smart runner who knows where he's going. He makes it look it. Very entertaining to watch. Just hope he doesn't take too many big hits tonight. He has shown he knows when to go down when he should though, so here's to hoping he does that.

that'd be about a 4.6/4.7 at the combine which is a step slower than Mariota. Sounds right.
I do remember in the NC State game he ran away from a DB, whatever the official time is, it's elite.

Guarantee he's at least a 4.6 guy. He's not running away fro, 4.4 & 4.3 guys in the secondary, but he's definitely not slower than that. Long strides and smooth running style make him look slower, but just like opposing teams report, he's faster than he looks.
