During one of the mid-week games a couple of weeks ago, the commentators referenced the fact that the coaching staff wasn't even sure they would keep Amick when they initially evaluated last year's team. They mentioned that Bakich didn't think he was good enough to play at Clemson. The commentators never really elaborated anymore on the subject. I was wondering if there was more to the story somewhere, as I'm sure CEB is more than happy he was wrong in his initial assessment.

Yes. There is MORE to the story, as you suggest. Billy is an extremely arrogant, self centered kid who did not take well to the new coach's disciplined approach. Looks like they now have it figured out. Thank goodness.

It was no secret he was an all or nothing type of swinger and would strike out a ton. This has not been the case this season. Whatever the issue was is just that. “Was”

Whatever the issue was the new coaching staff seems to have corrected it. He is straight raking right now.

Really, I thought that Blake Wright was the player that would have the kind of year that Billy is having. I didn't think that he was going to be as dynamic as Wagner, but would provide a lot of power. It does look like he is trying pull everything to left and pulls his head on about every swing. Hard to fault his defense though ...... just solid.

Are you referring to Amick pulling off the ball? I’m not seeing that myself. Now Blake Wright on the other hand needs alot of cage work right now. He has virtually no chance of hitting outside pitches with his swing right now. If he does it’s a pop up. He will come around
