What you could do, is look around at the rest of the planet

outside of the US, and at the inflation rates in the rest of the developed nations. What you'll find is that the US, while unpleasant, is at the very bottom for inflation, but it's a global problem driven by supply chain issues and energy costs coming out of a global pandemic. Predictably, you're going to go with "well, Biden is killing fossil fuels in the US", which is a convenient but very untrue root cause for current gas prices in the US. It doesn't matter that US producers are within a hair of pre-pandemic production, because we do not have the domestic refining capacity to turn crude into petroleum. We HAVE to export crude and HAVE to import refined petroleum to meet our energy needs. It doesn't matter if we start pulling 25 million domestic barrels per day out of the ground tomorrow instead of the current almost 13 million. We can't refine it. Want to pin refinery capacity on the current administration? Let me know and I'll walk you through the history of US refineries over the last half century.
So yeah, we know. It's just that some of us don't like the answer because it doesn't fit our team sport narrative.

The one thing for certain is that if a Repulbican was in office the entire media establishment wouldn't have spent the last three years ignoring inflation and the board leftists certainly wouldn't have been crowing about how great our inflation was compared to everyone else like a bunch of morons.

That's crazy. If only Trump were president there wouldn't have been this global inflation. I bet England, France, etc, are so angry with Biden. Trump is a God. This would have never happened with him at the helm.

the point is that you can't just assign an amount of buying power lost because that would depend on the individual.
Perhaps you meant the "average" American?
And yes, I went to Clemson and I'm a Tiger fan. I know plenty of Tiger fans ignorant on certain subject...yours is politics And as a conservative Tiger fan, that makes me sad.

In case Bill lets you down, I did some internet research.
Tim Scott said it at the Republican debate on 8/23. I could not find anything to suggest that the $10,000 figure is correct.
