Since fans can’t watch the game, the only option is listening like we went back in time to listen like in the 70’s. I pay for an expensive ESPN subscription on TV, and have been watching all baseball games. I graduated from Clemson in 1971, and belong to the Clemson Alumni Assoiciation in Austin Texas. I bought tickets to the Texas / Clemson game and attended. I read articles on Tigernet everyday and root for the Tigers in all sports. So Dabo makes the call not to televise the Spring game. I don’t understand his logic on this one. He’s depriving a lot of Tiger fans to see how players have developed and the new coaches. So for those that can attend, drink a beer and feel privileged. I am not going to listen to the game.

Sounds like a lot of teams are doing away with them to reduce tampering with players. He could have gone that far but didn’t. If tampering is an issue I’m all for it. The “game” is usually a waste of time anyway.

While the "game " itself has been a waste for a while now. Well, ever since it became a touch tackle game... which I completely understand.
But with our well publicized amazing retention rate, I just don't buy the tampering argument. I don't see how showing or canceling a spring game lessen the chance of tampering. What am I missing?
Most teams that are in the business of tampering, I would think already have in mind what a said team has or doesn't have long before a made up spring game. 🤷♂️

Agree, I don’t know how eliminating the game or taking it off TV is going to help much but that seems to be the current mindset going around. I would say it does somewhat reduce other teams access to see what you have outside of game tape since most practices are closed to the public now. There are always ways around it though for those bent on tampering.

Imagine my disappointment that the game doesn't conflict with the Masters. That has been a sore point for years. So they finally fix that only to cancel tv. Its always something.

While I understand the point of not televising the game, it does suck for out of state fans that can’t make it to the games. I’m sure there are quite a few that won’t get to see the tigers play until August.

cant watch. I mean if they can get William Cockinbush on tv multiple times a week you would think Dabo would be a bigger drawl. I also dont understand why Dabo made this decision himself you would think he wants all the publisity possible but since Dabo makes the call we gotta go with it just like the current president since thats what we voted for. I also read articles on Tigernet and miss the mackey blog but what are you gonna do, ya know? Mackey used to write about toughness so I am going to tough it out and drive over to the game since it isnt Masters weekend and wait 45 minutes for a warm aramark beer and root on my Tigers. I am going to listen to the game on replay because Don Munson is a persoanal friend we have the same barber.

my uncle died from gout and I took over his tickets and then those ran out and I buy them sometimes from guys around the stadium but I don't know why there signs say need tickets if their trying to sell tickets but I duress. I feel like Dabo is tryin to pack the stadium because he is going to have Walk-Ons doing all the stadium food and if he can have 86,000 people paying $17 for some bad chicken fingers that would be like.....like....a billion dollars or something my math isn't too good but it's a lot of money and if people stay home and watch on TV they will just go to Zaxby's and pay $12 for bad chicken fingers and Dabo want see none of that money I think its just greedy.

I would love to watch the spring game in person, but it's not going to happen right now.
To that end, consider:
1. If Dabo wants to get as many tails in the seats as possible, it's a good idea to limit the ability to watch it on television. It incentivizes attendance.
2. If you're trying out a new product (alch sales), you want a larger in person attendance for a test run.
3. Spring game tampering isn't as much about the established players as maybe trying to steal the younger talent before they get entrenched. That freshman that could be a stud but is sitting a year could be enticed by earlier playing time or by the "good cop" routine to a firm coach.

Televising everyone's spring game has only really been a thing since the invention of conference networks in the last 15 years. Went for decades without them being on TV. Guess people get spoiled quickly. Tiger football will carry on and survive without it as well as us fans.
