Which freshman do we not want to waste a redshirt on for mop up play? Albert, Jake, Deon??

As much. I'd say Albert is a RS candidate if we avoid injury...just guessing based on the comments yesterday

Love to be able to save a year for Mark Fields, but ...

... like so many of the really premium recruits we're getting these days, Fields may not be around for his senior year anyway.
And I sincerely hope this is the last year that we're forced into having no choice but to play OL as true freshmen. I have no issue with playing true frosh OL if they're good enough, but even the very best HS offensive line recruits would be that much better with a RS year.

If these guys are as good as advertised, they could leave

for the NFL after their sophomore year if the are red shirted. I'd rather see them playing 3 years rather than sitting one and playing two.

See i think that it would set him back to RS him...he needs to get in some live action this year even if its mop up duty to get a feel for the speed...i honestly wouldn't be surprised if he takes over the back up role at some point this year...NS hasn't exactly been lighting it up and Bryant adds a whole different weapon back there. I would rather him play this year be the back up next year then have him ready for the next year in case it take Zerrick a year to get a grasp on things...I think cooper is the real deal also and it will be difficult to keep him off the field...plus we really dont know much about Tucker but hes a great passer as well.

All the reports I have heard

is that he needs a lot of work throwing the ball. Even his QB coach in High School said he is a much better runner. I have also heard it is the staff's desire to have him as the next starting QB after Watson.

Yea I have been hearing the same but i also think he is getting better and better each day throwing and i think we could have him in to run the offense and he is more of a weapon and someone you have to watch more than NS, hes just more dangerous running. NS isnt going anywhere the def can just sit back and play a normal def. But if they are wanting him to be the next starter wouldnt you want him to get some game action this year and by next year he is ready and a confident back up? BC i honestly am not confident he will hold off Zerrick...that kid could be the next Watson in my opinion

I am kind of hoping Cooper is a stud and that he's the guy.

I think for some guys the redshirt is great. Some players will be at Clemson for 5 years. Other guys we will only have for 3 years, so might as well not redshirt them. That's just my opinion, but I am open to others.
