Agree with FM and others that UGA is out

But so is FSU IMHO with a backup QB.
1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. Texas 4. Bama
To qualify leaving out FSU, the so-called committee will match FSU up vs. UGA. Then how many will bet FSU over UGA with resulting 10 point spread?

Isn't the criteria supposed to be geared toward putting the 4 best teams in the playoff? If so, then you have to believe FSU minus their starting QB is still 1 of the 4 best teams in the country. Having watched both of their backup QBs, I think that would be a bit of a stretch.

FSU has a higher ranked SOR than Alabama.

I agree but why did the committee make them number 4 last week. They played last week with a backup quarterback. Yet the committee made them number 4. If they had them outside the top 4 we would have known what they thought and it would be a no brainer to leave them out. The committee put themselves in a tough spot.

Their own criteria makes it difficult for them to put Alabama and/or UGA in over FSU and Texas.

If all the starters don't opt out of a non-CFP UGA vs FSU bowl game

UGA steam rolls FSU... Even if FSU had Jordan Travis I'd still pick UGA (and I hate the leghumpers) because UGA's roster is much deeper and better coached than FSU's...

Then why put them in the CFP? If they can’t beat Georgia, can they beat any of the playoff teams? They deserve to be in the playoff. They are an undefeated conference champion!

Well if that’s the criteria what’s all the questions concerning who gets in?
Looks good on paper but not sure it holds much water.

But that’s the criteria directly from them. I attached a link so anyone interested can read it all. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but I am saying based on the criteria they provided, it will be very hard to keep FSU out in favor of Alabama.

Understood just did not believe they actually followed it.
That’s why I said, set in stone, like this is how it is and there are no exceptions.
Criteria has FSU in but in my opinion the top 4 teams as it sits right now has them out.
Would be nice to have them in seeing Clemson’s payday would be better.

Soc… those are my picks as well.
For me, at least, I never thought FSU was a top four team with Travis. Not even close. And I think, again, JMHO, they are a borderline Top 8-10 team. So for me,, this isnt hard to exclude them ….in my mind, at least.
If they get in, I won’t lose sleep over it and I’ll be happy for Bret, I just don’t think they are what an elite top 4 team looks like. Hack I think Clemson is a better team than they are.
I could care less about conference affiliation. Good football is good football. FSU with Travis was a very good team…but not a top four team.
My only bias is that I do not want any success for Norvell. NONE. Their success does not help Clemson in any way….

however, if we go by the criteria the committee is supposed to follow, then FSU is in. The only way to keep them out would be to place an emphasis on speculation of how they may do because the committee has already said prior to last night they are a top 4 team.

Bama beat number 1 and FSU beat an over rated Louisville team that lost to Pitt and Kentucky. Sad part is they were top 2 in the conference. 🤬🤬

FSU’s SOR is actually higher than Alabama’s. I’m using it because it is what ESPN is using. Is there a difference between SOS and SOR?

Clemson used to beat some bad ACC teams but we were blowing them out on most occasions.
The committee will focus on this ... my thoughts are Saban may have again have threaded the needle.

I believe the SEC championship was to make it in.
SEC championship in my mind has a little more weight seeing both were top 10.
I’m not sure but fairly certain that Clemson should be rated higher than Louisville.
