After a while to let emotions cool down, and rewatch most of the game,

I have some analysis, for what it's worth.

Going into the season one issue we were expecting was improved WR play. Again after rewatching the game there has been no improvement and possibly regression in the WR room.

Issue one; the often mentioned separation. Separation can be achieved in more than one way. Speed or physical hand and body work can gain separation. Routes can be designed to create separation. If you remember a couple of years back analysts were critical of our pass routes as being to simple. They still are. We need to scheme receivers open. It's hard for Cade or any QB to throw to a spot if we haven't schemed routes that promise separation at that point he throws to.

Issue two; and this is the first time I noticed this, receivers stopping on routes. Twice yesterday, once with Turner on a go route on the right sideline, Cade threw a pass, Turner was open but let up on the route. The second was Williams goin to the left corner of the end zone and slowed down rather than keep running. That is a blatant coaching issue.

Issue three relates mostly to Randall. He doesn't high point the ball. A pass is above his head and his arms are at shoulder level. He doesn't go get the ball. This has been his entire career. The kid looks the part but doesn't play the part. Again, the issue is coaching.

Issue four is talent. If the HC is going to argue that the players we have are good enough that we don't need the portal then we need the talent on the field. We all knew the WR room needed an infusion of talent. Most of us felt good about Wesco and Moore coming in. If we are not going to use the portal to fill in gaps in experience, then those freshman needed to be on the field. Where were they until late in the fourth quarter? Again, the issue is coaching.

If measuring talent level by their status as recruits says we have as much talent as most teams in the nation, it didn't show yesterday. That's coaching.

I'm not going to resort to name calling, or making disparaging remarks about anyone's character. That's juvenile and worthless for those of you who are going that direction. What I am going to say, is the coaching staff, and Dabo at the head, is responsible for the product on the field. At least one game in, the product on the field this year does not look discernably different than the product last year or the year before.

I am a Dabo fan. We have reached heights under his leadership that we have never seen before. He deserves to be treated with respect. Some of the name calling and character slander is out of place. If you engage in that then hear this you aren't Clemson, because we are better than that. I'm calling you out.

But there is a problem with Clemson football. Dabo, you are the face and leader of the team. It's on your shoulders to fix it. Get new staff, adapt your philosophy, do whatever it takes, but get it fixed.

The corner route you refer to, Williams had no idea where the ball was, Cade threw it to a spot and Williams never found the ball. That was obvious in MBS not sure how that did not translate to the micro view on TV.

No idea what Turner was thinking... we will never know. Do you know the play call on that play? What was Turner supposed to do? Who was the hot receiver? Who was the second, who was the checkdown? You don;t know any of that, nor does 99.99999999999% of people reading this... Maybe his job was to just take a defender 15-20 yards downfield and pull the safety over... or maybe he was the hot and he screwed up... who knows?

There was not a talent gap on the field... UGA #16 caught two passes, one for a huge first down and one for a TD... he was he only transfer to impact the game for UGA. Transfer from Vandy after 1 year. He is the second string WR (maybe not anymore).

It's a long season, we should mot pre-judge all by 2 quarters against the consensus number one team in college football.

Looking for a better showing under the lights in death valley.

Two transfers scored TD's

Colbie Young, WR transfer from Miami had two catches, one for a TD.

Landon Humphreys a WR transfer from Vandy had two catches, one for a TD.

Our two freshmen WR's didn't see the field until the forth quarter. Meaning they weren't ready and a transfer pick up might have helped us until they get some experience.

This would have been a great speech in 2021 or 2022, heck even 2023. He’s had a few years to fix these same problems and hasn’t. Now what?

It's been a slow process of undoing all of the bad hires. Instead of opting to rip the band aid off Dabo elected to slowly peel the bandaid off to reveal the stitches. Issue is it may be infected and it might be too late to save this staff. I hope Dabo gets a real wr coach, makes a knowledgeable coach the passing game coordinator, and swallows his pride and takes a hard look at how they are attacking the field.

I would add that both teams struggled the first half trying to find something on offense that would work. Second half GA adjusted to attacking the edges. CU defense never adjusted to the new attack. CU continued searching for an offensive identity, but without much success. This isn’t a talent issue. It’s a coaching & play calling issue.

I agree and have no idea what our offense's identity is or is trying to be.***

Mike Bobo was so conservative in the first half. He was hoping simple plays would be enough and they wouldn’t have to showcase some of the plays. WR screens and runs up the middle wasn’t going to work. Kirby told him to open it up at halftime.

100% agree with

Routes can be designed to create separation.
Scheme to create opening and opportunities.

We have not seen that yet.

There is a general malaise over this offense right now. It’s palpable-you can feel it. Gaining first downs seems monumental. Gash plays seem impossible. No confidence, no urgency. No change the last 4 years.

The Clemson team and Dabo ran out there last year against Duke the most poorly coached team I’ve ever witnessed under Dabo. This year he’s picked up right where they left off last year. It’s clearly a coaching issue, you can’t put this on the players. I don’t know if it’s a lack of accountability, a lack of discipline or lack of desire, but the coaching at Clemson is broken right now
