I don't think that's where we want to be as a fanbase. It's not a sustainable position if you want to win football games vs Top 10 teams.

Don’t know if you’ve noticed this but like 75% of those gremlins don’t need to “get the family out the hood” they’re just greedy. Also offering them room and board, food, and a place where they can develop as a man and get drafted into the league to make potentially millions of dollars should be enough. There’s your explanation.

I would hope most fans don't think that way but ur right, there's many posts saying it.
To say that is a really huge slap in the face to Dabo. Seeing how we have the best and most progression vetting process of any team in America. Say what you will about Dabo and coaching but he rarely misses on character assessment.

I think they're smart to get as much as they can, while they can. They put all the butts in the seats, and they should be paid. I don't fault anyone for leaving a job to take a higher paying job.
That does, however, probably indicate that they aren't a good match for Clemson. We're gonna lean harder on guys that want a degree AND a Natty. Currently, We're the only School that offers a reasonable chance at both. That's our Lane. We may look up in 2-3 years and recognize that Clemson's formula is the only one that's sustainable from one year to the next. look at FSU - they're just one example of implosion by portal. There are a lot of bad portal teams out there. interesting that Clemson is 9-2, still in the hunt...and leads the nation in Graduation rate at 99%. AMAZING accomplishment. All while becoming the all-time winning coach in ACC history. I know that doesn't seem important for the football team, but it only seems that way when you forget the second half of Clemson's name - its UNIVERSITY.
Clemson is the only team that had the fore-site to understand the perils of the portal. We're gonna have a close game with Carolina this weekend. We won't next year. We'll destroy them as they wrap up a 2-10 season - they'll be just like FSU - they wont be able to keep their best players because they wont be able to compete on the $$ with the SEC Giants. The SEC has turned itself into a 3 or 4 team league. they'll have 15 teams that are 6-6 or 5-7, every year. Team Continuity and the Quality of Character will win the day. Clemson is the ONLY non-academy school that is using this formula. It just seems to be obvious over time that this is the only formula that will work over the long-term.

I think you are right on on about all of your points. I would take a little issue that they are smart to get as much money as they can. I guess all things being equal, that may be a reason to flip, but working people with real life experiences turn down higher paying jobs all the time. There are so many other factors than money. Many of these young men do not have enough experience, possibly, to make the best decision for the long term. I do not think they are making bad decisions because they are pinks and/or thugs ..... maybe just bad advice.

Not sure many think that. They are looking for a payday and that is good on them. I would love to get 17-23 kids that wants to experience Clemson football. I’m afraid those guys are few and far between.
May see some Ivy League schools get in on the big boy action if their rich fan bases decided to start a collective gig. For the right price some of these 5 stars will suit up for the biggest payday. Better keep the funds coming though or they will portal on to the next highest bidder.
All is well though college football is a strong as it’s ever been. Money has never killed anything.😳
