ACC v SEC Softball

Our Clemson softball team won the ACC which can never be taken away from them. All the people on this site that have moaned and groaned about the lack of respect the Tigers and the ACC have should look at the brackets to see that the Committee got it right. According to the moaners and groaners, Georgia was terrible but they beat Duke who beat us. There are 7 SEC team that advanced and only 2 ACC teams. Always easy to gripe when you lose but at least we won the regular season and will be better next year. Life is not an ACC/SEC competition.

It was a goofy year in scheduling and games completed. Committee had a tough job as a result. Not defending them just stating a view

All 7 SEC teams that advanced played at home. I don't see why some of them were chosen to host vs other teams such as Clemson.

But the committee treats it like the gap is absolutely massive. Where a 27-22 SEC team liek auburn should get a better draw than a 42-6 ACC team

I think Clemson should have had a regional or at least been high enough not to have to play Oklahoma or Alabama. Those are obviously tough outs. But at the end of the day if you want to win you gotta take the cards your dealt and get it done.

Many of the SEC teams played on their home field. Think that might have had something to do with it ?

Dumb assessment. Do you think GA would have beat Duke in NC? Home regionals put them a leg up. Even so, Bammer looks like a probably World Series winner to me.

I really hope it comes down to Bama/Oklahoma. It would be interesting to see a 3 game series and what would win out... Fouts or OKC hitting. OKC beat the weaker SEC teams. Uga got them and won one in a 9 inning game. The best team they played was OK State. Lost, won a close one and then beat them badly when OK st couldn't pitch their ace. Other than that series, a pretty weak schedule.
They have that pipeline to Cali and I see from your top 50 recruits posts that they're restocking next year. Seems maybe Rittman could open that pipeline too being from Stanford.
But you could tell towards the last 3rd of the year, teams strategy against us was pitch around the 3, 4 hole and take their chances. Alia was coming on as a hitter against better pitching but beyond that, we were weak. That's why I said in another of your threads that I think it was great they got to in game hit against the best.
