Why would ND do a dumb thing like join the ACC and give up their media rights which are more valuable as an independent or as a member of the SEC or BIG than what the ACC would pay. ESPN IS bleeding cash and is in no hurry to REDO a new contract with the ACC.

…in the current landscape, but if you recognize that cataclysmic changes will likely continue going forward, I could see some possibilities that could change ND’s independent strategy.
Like, conferences playing fewer OOC games (or eventually none outside of a few super conferences?). Just saying, what has always worked for them might be a bad recipe at some point.
Now as for landing in the ACC, a lot of other crazy things would have to be in the mix.
All speculation, but I don’t think we’ve seen the end of shocking developments.

Yep . If we could Get UGA Alabama, and Florida to leave SEC and come to ACC with Notre Dame, we could get a huge media deal.
