70s Rock

I was born in 69 so was too little to really get into 70s rock at the time, but have really come to appreciate it as I've gotten older and discovered more. What are some good 70s rock bands that may not be as popular as the big dogs like Zep, Aerosmith, etc?
I've recently started listening to UFO - they have some really good stuff.
Pre-Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac had some really good stuff. I like a lot of the Bob Welch era.
Same with pre-Steve Perry Journey. Lots of good rock/blues rock by them and Mac.
Kind of funk/rock - Mother's Finest.

To you... they are not my favorite, but they certainly don't suck.

I was born in 1964 and my favorite decades for music are the 70’s and 80’s. I have listened to all kinds of music since I have a millennial child and I like some of it because I’ve always loved music but nothing beats the 70’s overall for me. I’ve had many favorite groups over the years but nothing beats Steely Dan for me. The sound of their music is just fantastic. I like it even more now that I’m “old”. I know they aren’t considered rock but gawd I love them.

I was born in 1949. I have seen/heard many genres of rock type music. For me the 60’s was the most transitional of all decades and had the widest variety of music of all.

Grateful Dead is as big as they have ever been.
We're at the point where 3 generations of the same family are attending Grateful Dead shows together

One of the best rock albums out there. Sammy Hager sang on and wrote most of the songs. Another album that is vastly underrated is Golden Earring Contraband...

Everything after that is tough for me to listen to. The bands sound nothing like their studio albums. Watch "The Who" isle of Wright live concert. That is what a great 70's live rock band should sound like. JMO

I heard Little Feat when I was on 4th grade a little before Lowell George died. I haven't gotten tired of them yet.

I’ve always said that the 70’s were the years that produced the best rock but, to balance it out a bit, that decade also produced disco.

Since you mentioned Led Zeppelin, I won't. The Allman Brothers Band, Van Halen, The Doobie Brothers, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, Grand Funk Railroad, Steely Dan, Kansas, Boston. I could go on, but that's enough.
