Article on Austin Droogsma from todays newspaper...

Jan 20, 2013, 11:27 PM

Perhaps the biggest name in the area still undecided is Gulf Breeze offensive guard Austin Droogsma. The 6-5, 300-pounder is carefully weighing his options, especially given the fact that Droogsma also happens to be one of the top discus throwers in the country."Austin is looking at a handful of schools for both track and football," Nemith said. "I know that Clemson is still in the mix. Louisville is there and Missouri was for a while, but I'm not really sure what's going on there."I think his decision is going to be whether he goes with track, because then he'll have to sit out of football for a year and walk-on. If he goes football, he has to go somewhere that is comfortable with him doing track."He's a kid that has a bright future in football, but it's a real possibility that he has an opportunity to compete in the Olympic trials as a track athlete. He's on the path to that threshold. It's critical to weigh all the options, and I know he's doing that."

Umm... How about both? If he came to CU on track scholarship he would not count in the 85 for first year.

Offensive line is most difficult for true freshmen to get PT at anyways.

I agree - the last game I watched, seems like we did play 2 guards on every one of those 100 offensive plays.

LoL now if he could run 4.3 40 we would have him playing the backfield!! Even Bama defense would make an opening for him!! :)

He throws the discuss or shotpit or however its spelled. He is pretty good, he broke the state record and the cool thing about it was it was the record his dad set while he was in high school!

Post this several times? I dont think I have but 2 or 3 posts ever that I have made. Maybe you have me mixed up with someone else but the source I copied this from is off the www.pnj.com website. It is our local newspaper, the online version of it. Austin lives here, so they were talking about all the recruits and signing day.
