"Clemson D Line Best in Nation"...how did this get
Nov 11, 2022, 4:53 PM

spread over every sports channel, magazine & talk shows b/4 & in early games?
Realize it's had injuries, some guys not in lineup often at same time as a group, etc..
But who started that statement and was it ever true.
Notre Dame might want an answer to this hype too.

Dabo...If I recall correctly he said he asked Eason "how would you like to coach the best Dline in college football"

Dabo may have said it but the hype started way before Eason was on staff. Most was based on the depth and experience we have, coupled with the fact they were 5* numero uno picks from HS ratings. Also consider the linebackers were highly rated and had dominate freshman years.
The only thing that changed was our DC staff. It's still mostly cbv's scheme with tweaks but it just wasn't the ND game. It's been all year. Guys losing leverage, backers and DE's losing the edge, out of position, shooting wrong gaps.
Throw in some obvious holding non calls and you get what we have. Play calling? Who knows but based off previous 10 years, I'm sure cbv would have had us better prepared. Rarely did he have the talent and depth we have this year.
Not pumping or dumping, just an honest opinion from stuff I've heard from guys that played college ball.

I thing the key change is Goodwin. The Power Rangers could only do so well against double teams. When 4 guys are occupying 6 and you drop the QB and the ball carrier out of the equation it leaves 7 guys on 3. The linebackers should have had a hay day. Goodwin just doesn't seem to make adjustments or the players are not understanding when he does. There is too much talent on this defense to play this poorly.

No statement like that is never true until all the games are played.

Sayin’, give it a rest Bill. You need to not believe everything you see on ESPN or Fox News.

I’ll take the power rangers. There simply is no leadership on the field. We miss Shalkski or however you spell his name. ?

Every game I think they are going to get better but it is not happening. You could see it coming in the Furman and LA Tec games.

All I know is their collective draft stock took a major hit last Saturday. They failed to get off the ROY bus.

for the Miami Dolphins and NY Giants - both teams are improving and winning in 2022. Both are great players and leaders. Clemson's current D-line has players with unrealized potential. They're not "there" yet. They may never get there.
