22-23 Basketball Team

Let me preface by saying I think CBB has done all he can do here at Clemson. I'm hope I'm wrong and will love to be proven incorrect, but I don't see it.
Let's look at next year's team and talk about expectations. I don't see any team other than Duke with a superlative recruiting class coming in. The ACC is coming off of one of its worst years on record. How do we fare next season?
With basketball you're never really sure of who comes back but with expected losses and current recruits what say you basketball insiders, CBB homers and CBB haters?

Could be pretty good with PJ Hall and the other young frontcourt players.
My concern is still the backcourt with consistency. Yeah Chase Hunter stepped up, how do you know he won't have another nagging injury that slows him down.
Also factors with other injuries like what PJ and Tyson experienced this season.
And finally, Brad Brownell will certainly find away to lose a few games they should be favored in.
I really am no t that excited even if pretty good which just shows the status of the program now.

If most of the team returns, and the young guys continue to improve, they should be pretty good. I think Hunter Tyson has a covid year, and really hope he choses to use it.
I think PJ got snubbed on the All-ACC teams, and will be out to prove something. That guy is tough as nails, and was obviously in pain against VT, but still almost led us to victory.
One area that needs improvement is consistency from our backcourt players. We have some talent there, but they need to be able to bring it night after night.
If we can avoid the injury bug, and most of our key guys return, I could see us going 15-5 in conference play next year!

I dont think PJ really got snubbed. I mean maybe he could've replaced Jaden Gardner on the 3rd team but it seems more of a push to me. Gardner had more rebounds per game but PJ had more blocks per game. PJ averaged 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assist, and 1.3 blocks per game. Really solid numbers but not "jump off the page" numbers for someone who doesnt watch all of the games and has to vote. I wouldnt be shocked if he was in the conversation for first team next year, 2nd team minimum.

Please if Brownell is our coach we are not going 15-5 no way. Every year with him is wait till next . If he come back I'm done . This is crazy doing the same thing for 12 years.

Bring in a couple of tough guys like Collins and Bohannon, Tyson comes back, and this team will be very good.

CBB if still here (Neff won't pull the string I fear) will need to hit the transfer portal hard again. Tigers will greatly miss Collins and Bohannon. For whatever reason the freshman CBB brings in seldom make a big impact their first year for Clemson so we need experienced veteran guys from the portal. PJ Hall and Chase Hunter improved greatly so they are solid. Dawes and Honor need to be more consistent and avoid the terrible 1-8 shooting nights they mix with their great shooting nights. CBB is bringing in 3 taller HS guys at 6'6", 6'7", and 6'9" which is needed. Our offense needs to find a way to get Hemenway more open looks from 3 point range as he can really shoot when open. Hopefully Middlebrooks can continue improving.I hope Tyson Hunter comes back for one last hooray. A solid F and PF is needed from the portal.
I expect about a 20-12 team with this bunch next year.

Get Jalen Slawson and Mike Bothwell from Furman and you would have a really good team. Mike Young at Virginia Tech has shown great SoCon players can play in the ACC.

Next years team will be a bubble team come March . Because they lost 2 or 3 games they had no business losing . It will be the same ole same ole as long as CBB is in charge . No way we have a team that plays well all year and is a lock come tournament time .

Positioned For A Big Season

The lunatic fringe will sit down and shut up as next season develops. The only time we will see them on the board is after a loss when they will call for mass firings. Very predictable.

standpoint to attract a quality replacement for Brownell. Our cupboard is not bare, and we are far from a rebuilding project. The next era of ACC basketball leadership is up for grabs, Clemson is a nationally strong brand, and our admin has shown itself to be a patient one, not a reactionary one. The stars are really aligned well to bring in a winner to lead us from here.
