Low GPA, High real world experience..

Before I begin, I am sorry if this is not the correct place to post this or if some users find this thread obnoxious.
Hello, My name is Micah Lee and I am planning on (attempting) to go to Clemson University when I graduate, but I am open to other universities within the South Carolina Area. However, I do have a few questions... I am not the best highschool student. I currently have a ~2.2 GPA and an ACT score of 21 (planning on retaking for a higher score). However, the reason for my low GPA is mainly due to me owning my own online business and working many long, intense, and late nights to complete tasks that needed to be done. Running a business 24/7 and attending high school really, really don't mix. I currently run my own Online Server Hosting Business which I do own an LLC for and my day to day tasks consist of back end/front end website development, windows/linux/ubuntu server administration, and various forms of other software development.I make around 4-5 grand a month as a junior in highschool and have been building the business higher and greater since late 2015. This being said, if I were to write a very detailed, and convincing letter showing off my real world skills and experience I possess, and of course have a portfolio to display which would show all of my past and current projects, would Clemson see that I am a person of great potential despite my GPA? Or am I better off pursuing owning my own large scale. long term company and forgetting about college all together? What college do I have the best of chances at? I look forward to hearing from you guys. Thank you!

Firstly, sorry for any errors I am making in my posts. I am typing from an Iphone with the screen size of a zippo lighter. Also, regarding your point as to why I would go to college in the first place; I plan on going to college because in reality the online realm of business is entirely unpredictable and I could make 5 grand this month and make nothing next month if the business were to suddenly die out. While this is not likely, its still best to have a backup plan.

You wouldn't be able to get into Clemson with that unless you had someone on the inside by the balls.
You could go to a community college or usc maybe.
And, of you got to the point of unsustainablity and had to pack it up, you could go to college then, be it 10 years from now.

If you don’t have time for high school

You really won’t have time for college.
I worked 35-40 hours my junior and senior years of hs and skated through with good grades. I had to quit work about 3 weeks into Clemson or I was going to lose my scholarship.
Pro tip - Take the SAT before you take the ACT again. The ACT is a good measure of what you have learned, the SAT measures how well you think and analyze.
If you are that skilled just hack into one of the online schools and award yourself a degree.

Clemson is elite in SC. Your best bet is to Bridge, but that program is getting harder and harder to get into. My wife is a high school guidance counselor in SC and Clemson is just really tough because of demand from in state and out of state. If I were you, I would go to another school and try to transfer in, even Tri-County Tech, without to Bridge, if you really want to get into Clemson. I think weighted GPAs to get into Clemson these days are like 4.5 and higher, which would probably be DAMNN close to a 4.0 student without all those extra points they give people these days. Alot of the clowns on this board couldn't get into Clemson now, started getting really tough in 2001-2002 and has not let up. Good luck.
Erskine used to have a Clemson transfer program, but without scholarships, that would cost ALOT of cash, I think. Consult your high school guidance counselor.

A 2.2 GPA in highschool
May 24, 2018, 10:16 AM

Will equate to you being put on probation after your first college semester and kicked out of school after your first full year.
You won't get in. Don't even waste the money on the application.
Good job on the troll though.

But the University of South Carolina has a history of accepting students with standards as low as yours. A 2.2 should get you in no problem.
el shid might accept you if you donate your monthly earnings to the football team

All it's going to do for you is help you get a job working for someone else. That's foolish if you intend to manage your life. You get stuck with bosses who have been promoted one time too many, take credit for your accomplishments and point to you when their bosses call them on the carpet for their screwups. My average stay on a corp job was 6 months.
If you're dead set on being educated for the accomplishment then buy the text books and learn. That's what it all comes down to anyway.
