Only four guys are out to start camp... Myles Oliver, Hampton Earle, Bubba McAtee and Tre Williams. Tyler Venables had a hip procedure and is out for a bit and they will redshirt him.

He's more commenting that the line in his opinion is deeper this year. Past years, they didn't play that many because they didn't have that many they felt comfortable switching/taking in and out. So it sounds like they feel the depth is better.

We only had 5 that had to start and play every snap in 2021 because we had no one else. You remember how bad that line was?
Our DLine rotate a lot of players every year and we
Always have one of the best Dlines in the country.
Having quality depth doesn’t mean we don’t have a good position group. QB is the only position that really applies to IMHO.

The first year we made it was 2015:
1) 2015, made
2) 2016, made
3) 2017, made
4) 2018, made
5) 2019, made
6) 2020, made
7) 2021, missed
8) 2022, missed
9) 2023 (this year)
As you can see, that is 9 years, including this year, since we made our first CFP. If we make it this year that WOULD be 7 out of 9 years we made it.
I get it, math is hard too.

You can't just remove 2014 like that wasn't a CFP year...it was, and FSU made it that year. I know admitting reality is hard for some, but 2014 was in fact the first CFP year, so this year make it 10, not 9.

He didn't make it in 2014 either, because he lost to FSU in Tallahassee, GT with Stoudt becoming their MVP, and to UGA. You don't start the count of how many there were with the first year you made it...you start it with the first year of it's inception...2014, not 2015. DO you think if you talk to an OH state fan, or an FSU fan, or an Oregon fan, or an Alabama fan that they agree there has been 9 and their games in 2014 "don't count"?

I do get I read it slightly wrong, as did some on Twitter too....but it's still wrong when you count all years of the CFP. You have to also count he didn't make 2014...love Dabo, but that was a CFP year, that he lost to a CFP team of that year (FSU). So correct statement would be "make 7 of 10", counting all 10 years of the CFP if this coming one is counted.

It started in 2014....he's only made it 6 times since then, not 7 (to date)...'15, '16, '17, '18, '19, '20.
He didn't in his first year ('14), and didn't the last 2 ('21, '22). There is no 7th currently. If he's saying we made it 7 of 9, then he's a year off on how many we've made. We've made 6 of 9, not 7 of 9.
If he's saying he'd like to make it 7 of 9, well, then he's removing 2014, the first year of the CFP, and should be saying 7 of 10 if he makes it for his 7th this year out of the 10 years it'll have been going counting 2023 season.

I'm not the one making the bigger deal of it. Either direction you spin it, it was said wrong...that was all my post was about.
It's either he's saying we made 7 of 9..and it's actually 6 of 9.
or he's saying he'd like to make it where he can say 7 of 9 (which seems to be the case)...but the whole world knows there was a 10th in 2014 that OH St won vs Oregon.
Dabo saying we made 7 of 9 in late 2023 would be inaccurate either way. It's that simple, for the guys who seem to misunderstand math doesn't subtract out a year so the math works.

Tigerman, you should put the shovel down before you hurt yourself. It doesn't matter what YOU think the point should be which seems to be our playoff seasons compared to the entire playoff era, because that is not the point Dabo wanted to make. If the Braves win 6 games in a row, lose the next 2 and then win again, they have won 7 of the last 9 games, regardless of what happened prior to the streak. Dabo is saying the same thing beginning with the first time Clemson made the playoffs when our streak started until the end of this next season. We currently have made the playoffs in 6 of the last 8 seasons and if we make it this year, it will be 7 of the last 9. That is all he was saying and that is an accurate statement for the time period Dabo was using.

Just as such, it doesn't matter what you THINK you wanted him to say...but he never said the word last, which makes it take on a whole new meaning. He said exactly "Man, it would be really cool for us to make it this year and be able to say we went to 7 of 9 final fours when that era ends"...though it'll be 10.
But I'll just let you guys back at it. Apparently this board has gotten softer in the last few years.
