$1.3bil for Powerball, I wouldn't give a dime to NIL

If I ever won millions or billions from Powerball, I would never just say, 'Hey Dabo, I have a few million to buy 'A' player or to buy a few. My thing is, if they are not interested in their portion of the $20.5m then they are not interested in an education nor the university.

I would consider maybe boosting every player's NIL by like $25k or something but I am not buying players and I am not paying Walk-ons! I want Dabo to recruit 3*+ players and not just giving friends schollies and then complaining that he doesn't have a good practice squad.

Also, I would donate to more of the non-revenue sports where we seem to accel like Softball, lacrosse and soccer.

I might buy a parking lot and rent spaces with full experiences to include bathrooms, TVs, concessions, and then offer to pay players to come interact for a fee but they have to earn their NIL and don't just hold their hand out as this corrupted college experience has evolved to nowadays.

I'd start an endowment that would pay for innovative people of my choosing to create non-standard forms of NIL and Athletic Dept revenue.

So I guess I phrased it incorrectly but I would never buy players through NIL but I would probably help non-revenue players but once they committed. Yes, if I give bonus NIL to teams, then yes, I guess I am giving NIL but I would never give more to Cade vs Barnes vs Capehart vs Lawson vs etc.

And paying players for appearances would happen with reasonable $$'s but also meaning that they have to earn their money. I would never write a check just because they have 4*'s!

Even if you win, after allowing for lump sum payment and taxes youre only walking away with 300-400 million which makes you a relative pauper in the rich alumni who like to buy players for their football team league.

Its usually like 52-54% you collect so $6-700mil is pretty strong!

Yes but then you still must pay taxes which will knock it down a couple hundred million. Still a nice problem to have though! Lol.

Um, hate to tell you but you are offering NIL in doing that:

Personal appearances fall under NIL if the athlete is:
• Paid to attend or speak at an event,
• Doing meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, or promotional appearances,
• Representing a business or brand in person.

These appearances are considered the athlete’s marketable presence, which is part of their NIL value.

I’d ask tell the AD that if he wanted, I would buy out Dabo’s contract and also cover the salary and buyout for Dan Lanning to come to Clemson and get us back to winning titles through recruiting AND portal use.

All of this of course would only happen if Dabo refused to change. It would be better for him to be the guy to do it and not another coach.

if, if, if... whatever. Like it or not (and I don't) but the NIL is the way it is now and you might as well learn to accept it.

So you want dabo to ONLY recruit 4 and 5 stars.....yeah thats not how that works. You're just mad because some of these players have figured out what their value is, and its more than a measly 25k.

When did a free education not become enough whilst the rest of us struggle to pay for our kids education and many have to take out loans to do it? I get why people don't like it.

the casual fan up to the powers that be like moron herbstreit have been saying players should get paid with little consideration for the fall out and acknowledgement of an expensive education and beyond. Well they got what they wanted and now no one likes it.

I don't know how Clemsons NIL deal work for football much less the rest of the athletic department - I assume we're better than most. But the NIL is the rules and there's no point in trying to get the genie back in the bottle. Better learn to work with it because its out and its never going away.

LOL .......... People are really generous with money they don't have. I think we all play that game, but quite frankly, Clemson football is more interested in the money that you do have whether it's $100, a $1000, $10,000, $100,000 or a $1,000,000 that what a huge chunk of the money you don't have!:)
