had to have an appendectomy on HHI?

Guys its been a crazy workcation.

One min enjoying some nice quiet beach time with Mrs Pabst while at a conference. Next thing I know Im at the Novant Health HHI medical center getting a, per the surgeon, very angry appendix removed. I laughed at Mrs Pabst when we're at the urgent care, pre hospital, when she questioned the doc if it was truly appendicitis or just bad gas 😆

On the bright note after 2 days of Beach Bully, couple dozen Mojitos and a lot of Tequila mules (clients favorite) my liver enzymes were under 20 each!

Now no booze bc Pabst on strong pain killers. No lifting for 2+ weeks.

Just grateful 🙏 for Mrs Pabst as she made me go, as I was planning on waiting till we got back to CLT. Doc said I was about 24hrs from going from a normal procedure to something way more serious.

Thank u sir. Very grateful the folks at the hospital were kind and good. I was literally the only person in Pre Op, Op and post Op. It was like we had a private hospital.

I had a similar situation in Atlanta at a conference and put off getting checked until I got home and it had abscessed

Turned into a 2 week ordeal followed by blood clots and all sorts of fun complications.

Fast healing!

Oh man I wondered what that meant when he said in ~24hrs this would have been far more complicated. Sorry to hear you had such a tough one.

Doc told Mrs Pabst as bad as mine looked he was surprised I hadn't been in more pain for longer.

Started as a dull pain in my right quadrant. Then became more and more painful. Took two dumpos and gas pills, nothing releaved the pain. Tried to sleep but couldn't, could not lay on right side. This all started about 7 to 8PM. By ~ 18 hrs later (2pm next day) was doubled over in pain and went to Urgent Care. By 9PM was in Surgery.

Doc thinks Apendix was inflamed for days and ready to come out, I just thought I had pulled something in the gym or had bad gas 😆.

When me was a preteen he had exploratory surgery. Went to bathroom and shattered blood. They cut a line in my belly and found nothing. While in there took out appendix. I always tell everyone that the scar occurred in a knife fight. Again heal quickly.

Oh man so sorry! We asked the doc why now, I'm 49, and he said it could be a number of issues from a simple catching of a bacterial or virus and the lymph nodes just swelled around the artery of the appendix...really no true reason. Of course still waiting on pathology to see if there was an underlying cause for the Appendicitis.

The last 12ish hours before surgery I couldn't be still, standing would help then id double over in pain. Lort man how did you see and treat folks?!?!

Ironically sat in ER and was never given pain meds, and nurse was like "you're the calmest person I've met who was told he needed emergency surgery. Once I got back to PreOp they hit me up with some good juice.

Less than 48hrs post Op still in pain but getting better.
