If he waits until NSD

he may be on the outside looking in. spots are pretty limited at this point and there is no telling when the scholarships may no longer be available.

There are some guys that will most likely be run off to make room. Many of you think this is exclusive to S. Carolina, but most programs run guys off that aren't trying to compete. Some just get happy being on the team with a scholarship. This is a waste for them, for the school, and for the fans.

Absolutely. As a young man growing into maturity, they need to realize there is no reward for not giving 100%. You may not have to be quite as athletic as another, as long as you give and continue learning/growing. If there are guys on the team that are not contributing, they need to be warned, given another chance and then told to go somewhere where they can be more productive. There is no place on this team for someone who will only show up. They need to perform or go to USuCk. They love mediocrity.

I think you make room for a guy like 77. He is very aggressive, and we NEED guys like that on our D line. Dabo, if this guys wants us, make room b/c we want him....

We may have trouble filling the 4. Sounds like Bullard may be Fla now. Hopefully we get Gurley and Reader....not sure who the other two would be. Reader is fine it seems though unless something changes. Even if we change Bullard back to us that would still leave two open spots if we get Gurley and Bullard. I don't think having a spot open will be an issue.

I live in Greensboro and work with a lot of kids who go to Grimsley and are good friends with him, some have mentioned to me that he has talked with his parents a lot about Clemson and thats where he is leaning right now.

This kid reminds me in many ways of Brandon Thompson. Kid looks solid and is built like an anvil. Pull the trigger DJ.

Only thing that kind of makes me scratch my head is his mention of Maryland's location and if he chooses to major in entrepreneur(?) the connections are the best. I thought Maryland was a dump? Hope the Under Armour guy doesn't get wind of this.

there is no question you can make more business connections in the DC area than you can in the Clemson area (the same can be said for most big cities). However, in the grand scheme of things you really aren't making business connections (aside from with classmates) while an undergrad.

Question to fellow Tigers about recruiting...
Dec 17, 2011, 3:37 PM

buddy of mine is telling me that Mike Davis has backed off Clemson alil' bit here recently? Any word on that?
Is that because we're recruiting Gurley alil' more?
Personally, I hope we don't take a back this year, less it was Davis. #21
