Question can Neff force Dabos hand?

Can Neff have a closed door meeting with Dabo at season’s end. And tell him your way isn’t working anymore and you have to make changes. Can Neff push Dabo into using the transfer portal and make staff changes? Basically tell him make changes or leave type of situation. Obviously I don’t want Dabo to leave. He’s done great things at Clemson including 2 national championships. But it’s obvious someone needs to make Dabo change his ways. To stop this sinking ship from going under.

I doubt anyone sees a need for change better than Dabo. Most of his "everything is fine..." comments are standard fare for the media.

Well, these issues have been apparent to most folks over the last few years, and Dabo failed to correct them. Hopefully he gets his head out of his ####. He won’t want to admit several of his hires were big mistakes. Especially when people questioned them in the first place.

Of course he can because he is the AD.

Swimmer, I was answering the OP’s question. I agree with you. I don’t want another Bobby Robinson situation either.

Not by himself, but yes

Neff will come into the year-end meeting with the full power and support of the largest boosters, the BOT, and President Clements. Dabo will negotiate and acquiesce for financial and personal reasons. All will save face and move forward as professionals. Riley will either play a larger role or leave the program.

what, exactly, do you think Dabo is going to give up in a negotiation. He has $65 million reasons to tell anyone making demands to pound sand.

Dabo should t need his hand forced. Dabo should clean house except for Garrett. Dabo should go back to being CEO and let coaches fuss. He should be like Bobby Bowden. Standing around, deciding whether to go for 3, punt, etc. Jacking up referees and screaming at players, but not messing in the play calling.

Where is your proof he is involved with play calling?

He has always worn a headset as coach, so that’s not proof. There has been absolutely zero evidence he interferes with play calling. I have no problems with criticism, but please keep it to actual facts and not conspiracy theories that’s been peddled on Tigernet for 15 years.

Watching yesterday it was televised for the world to see that dabo is calling plays. Rewatch the game if you don't believe me. Riley was waiting for Dabo to make up his mind before the play is called. Pretty sure that is proof he is involved in play calls.

how to run the program. Stop pushing the falsehood about the portal. We know now that we did go after players in the portal, but weren’t able to land them. The portal has nothing to do with the turn over issue

No. What would be nice is we hadn't hired a child as our AD and he was someone that could offer competent constructive criticism. The AD is also the only person Dabo could go to to discuss personnel matters who isn't a direct subordinate. None of Dabo's super successful hires were the biggest name at the time. Chad Morris was one year out of high school and Brent Venables had literally been demoted. The Garret Riley hire reeks of grabbing the biggest name possible to throw red meat to an idiot fan base. It's exactly the kind of advice a novice AD with money to burn would give and look how well it has worked out.

It will be nothing more than Neff asking Dabo what he can provide him to help with the turnaround… There won’t be any ultimatums delivered.

Anyone that thinks the AD is going to tell Dabo what changes he needs to make is out of their mind.
