Publix update......

Ribeyes were $24/lb and filets were $36/lb.

I have about 20 ribeyes in the freezer that were $12.38/lb.

Publix had a $160 brisket. I'm currently cooking a larger one that was $89.

I walk in Publix and it's surreal. Place is packed. Little old ladies. Families with 3-6 kids. Construction workers. Little old men shuffling around. And to think how much they're paying (overpaying?) is sad. Mexican cokes were almost $3 a bottle. My smoked oysters were $3.99 a can. Used to be $1.68. Hot dogs, a pack of Ball Park were $2 more than Food Lion.

And Food Lion is not immune either. Their Ribeyes are up to $19/lb. I made my first $300 Food Lion grocery run last week. Didn't buy any meat other than hot dogs and deli.

When folks say, "You'll regret that in the morning", I just sleep until noon, because I'm a problem solver.

Boston butt last week was $2.99 a lb

Was expensive today too. Used to do NY Strips on Fridays. Now instead of 2 steaks of medium quality for $28, I'm buying a $7 pork tenderloin

$3.50 for a half gallon of milk. Walmart had full gallons at $2.83

Still stop by for small things. But grocery runs are elsewhere.

Step one, we gotta stop making fun of vegetarians and vegans.

If we encourage such lifestyles, make it easy even, maybe more will join and lower the demand for beef.

Next step is to make ranching cost less somehow.
