Give me your opinions on wood pellet grills.
Traeger? Recteq? Weber? Other? Please name other brand and model.
I really need some good info from those in the know and that have experience with wood pellet grills. Thanks in advance.

he likes it also. It's a little hard to get a good sear on a steak but doable...get the sear plates. Have cooked butts, ribs, chops, chicken, briskets and all have been quite tasty.

Go to recteq or traeger website and watch videos about their pellet grills. It would take way too long for me to try to explain.

For smoking they are great as you don’t have to babysit them. I do overnite smokes all the time especially pork butts. For grilling I'm not that impressed. Although great reviews on the recteq bullseye. Pellets are very affordable. It's been a great investment for me.

Pellet grill is more similar to oven in how it cooks and how food turns out. Great for chicken, but in my opinion not great for steaks. If had the money would have my ceramic for smoking and grilling and a pellet for poultry.

They are all great, but know what you’re getting into. My family all have Recs, but they are more of a different way to cook rather than just a straight swap for a grill.

Thanks for your warning, but I’m looking at a pellet grill more for smoking than grilling.

I have a recteq. Neigbor had a Traegor. He sold his and bought a recteq. Biggest difference is the thickness of the metal and the temperature controller. Recteq has a +/- of 5 degrees other brands are 10+. If you are wanting ir just for grilling then get the bullseye if you are wanting to smoke get the 700 if you can. Also the warranty is longer on the recteq. I've had mine now 4 years and still absolutely love it.

I have been leaning towards the RT-700. You may have just sealed the deal.
