It's legal right? If we are thinking these kids are actually participating in advertising campaigns, appearances, speaking, signings, then we are kidding ourselves. Yes some are, but, not a lot.
How many commercials have you seen, other than the DP-DJ commercial? I haven't seen any.

I pulled for GA to beat OSU. I would have pulled for GA to beat Michigan. While I fully expect GA to win, and would put my money on them if I were betting the game, I am rooting for the underdog in this one.

Good news for the Doggies is that Bama won that one even though everyone not a Bama or Gamecock fan was pulling for Clemson.
You've probably got the Gamecocks just because they love to live vicariously through you and Bama. You might have SMU fans just because they hate TCU. Maybe Texas and/or A&M because it impacts their recruiting. Outside of that pretty much everyone is pulling for the underdog.

However, if I were from around here I'd be pulling for you guys despite every member of my extended Clemson family's hatred (well, FEAR, really) of UGA football.
They do not truck with the following under any circumstances:
1. UofSC (no matter who they play)
2. UGA (no matter who they play)
3. UNC (ditto)
4. Bama (ditto)
5. CNN
I dont always fit in.
I believe in games of national significance you gotta go with the school that most closely aligns with your conference/region if such a team is involved.
Otherwise you go with the one that holds some sentimental value. Underdog status is my go-to.
