Our coaching staff can do everything to instill strong morals and make our kids into men but just as in life and even within our own families, some go down the wrong path. Pray for them and hope that the years spent in such a good environment will get them back on the right path.

So JFB, you sound pretty sure it was one of our guys who had the knife or gun, and not the Duke kid? And you're sure the reported victim is a reliable source? One or both of these may or may not be true, but most of us haven't heard many facts yet.

Hopefully they get PTI, but...

if they don't,I believe it is 5 years for the gun alone being used in a robbery. That's on top of whatever sentence they get. Take that with a grain of salt, but I think that is the case.

minimum serve time in SC is 10 years and a max of 30. These guys are in a world of trouble. The only way they see that little prison time is if they plea to some lesser included offense.

Not true

SC (and GA) have INCREDIBLY lenient sentencing with these sorts of situations via PTI (pre trial intervention for first time offenders) and "conditional discharge".

Unfortunately, I know from experience. Live and you learn.

Either way, these guys will most likely not spend a single day in jail so long as they pay their fines, successfully complete their pre trial programs, #### clean, etc. They will most likely get supervised (or intensive) probation, but outside of the days spent in jail prior to making bond/personal recognizance, I would be extremely shocked if they ever sniffed a jail cell given they have clean records up to this point.

It's kind of shameful, but the state of SC chooses the $ every time. And hey, we need all we can get.
