A couple of things. We need more funding for the border. They vote on it today. Secondly, there is the FBI at work in the story. They same FBI that the MAGA folks want dismantled. Anyway, that vote today ties into Ukraine and Israel funding. The sticking points on the deal is that some hardliners on both sides wont budge. Some Repubs refuse to fund Ukraine and some Dems refuse to completely close the border like some far right Repubs want. Some Dems also arent cool with funding Israel either. They vote today and sounds like they are close, but the hardliners wont budge.

For Mayorkas to keep his stony faced lie going is ridiculous.
It’s past time for action to tighten border security. We can discuss and deliberate on the myriad other issues related to immigration, but the first priority should be better border security.

What would be your recommendations for tightened border? We've seen in the video posted that the wall is a joke and that the migrants just cross so they can get arrested and make a claim for asylum.

Technology and a shyatt load of more patrol. Make them wait on the other side for their asylum approval. Dont house them in the USA while they wait, unless needed. I would like to hear what the border patrol has to think. I know they say they are desperate for resources. I wonder what those reources are?

In that video, we had a wall and Border patrol present. The migrants were willingly getting arrested. The immigration laws were being enforced. It's up to congress to change the laws.
But let's blame Mayorkas or Biden.

I will take the border patrol agents word for it. We have a problem. Also, that is just one spot. Also, we dont know what the complications are there. I know you want to turn this into liberal vs conservative, Dem vs Repub, but there is a huge problem there and they need resources.

This isn't about liberal vs conservative. This is about dispelling the BS narratives that are being pushed by the MAGAts. It's the laws that are the problem as that video shows the MAGAt resources are in place (border agents + wall). And the result is that it doesn't work.

Start with enforcement assets such as staffing, technology, physical controls at crossing locations and port of entries. If it doesn’t already, illegal entry should permanently ban an individual from legally entering the country,
Expedite the process for legal asylum seekers. It should not take years for this process to play out. Rationalize and simplify the asylum and immigration laws _ really all green card requirements including employment. Recognize the business community’s needs for employees in all sectors. Resolve the DACA situation giving a pathway to citizenship through service, employment / tax payer requirements etc. Finally, foreign policy and assistance that decreases asylum seekers especially from Central and South America is in the best interests of the US.
The demographics indicate the US needs immigration to support the economy now and in the future. It’s better to effectively manage that process than to ….
1) Stick your head in the sand and pretend there’s not a border security/ immigration problem OR …
2) View immigration as some sort of threat to “white” Americans and / or liberal political conspiracy.
For decades the US has kicked the “immigration reform” can down the road.
