Focused entirely on recruiting players through the Portal. Set aside at least 6 schollies for Portal recruits. Put the word out that we are looking for a certain position(s) in the portal to be starters.

This guy has been terrible since day one...Dabo didn't have room for portal players this year but will he use it in the future? If not his stubbornness will mean we will not be upper tier again.

Good. From our portal activity, you would never know that. So, if we have one it looks like he may be overpaid , works very little or can't recruit the portal.

There are plenty of HS kids with more potential than most in the portal. But there are numerous elite players that hit the portal every year. Recruiting both with the same importance is key IMO

You know, just sign 30 magic portal players every year and forget about high school players. I mean, those magic portal dudes are all grizzled veterans requiring zero development or character. Forget the whole “culture” thing and making men out of boys. Just take the magic portal leap. It it’s good for “filling voids” then why not make an entire roster of these dudes. With all that savvy talent and experience in the magic portal, how can we lose?

I would dive on a grenade for that job. The Clemson PROTAL Looker is hands down the greatest job in America. Better than congressman that work less than half the year, better than QB2 in the NFL behind Peyton, Brady, or Mahomes. I would even put that above being Bill Dance and my love for fishing rivals all other pursuits.
Here's to this dude figuring out how lucky he is and producing some studs that fit Dabo's criteria, and want to come play Where the Blue Ridge yawns its greatness.

program that don't pan out as well as other recruits do so we can go big time protal. Commitment shmamitment. Either deliver big or go find another program, kids. We're big time winners here at Clemson and us fans demand a never-ending run every season of unparalleled success or else.
Tyler Brown? Sorry, dude. As a late pick-up and our third lowest rated recruit this year you're gonna have to move on to make room for an obviously better free agent protal kid who's dying to come here but we won't let him. We're weeding out the 5-heart schollies and late local HS pick-ups to make room for fresh new guys that already have experience playing for someone else which obviously makes them better because that kid from FSU had a good game against us. That goes for you, too, Antonio Williams. Same deal. Dabo should have known better and not been so stubborn to have offered you when obviously a protal kid would be better.
Best thing we could do is get rid of Dabo's secret sauce, you know, that whole commitment thing with team building, culture, and growing kids into men and all and that whole college stuff.

If Dabo was as portal heavy as many are so adamant about him being we would not have Tyler Brown or Antonio Williams on our roster considering where they were on the recruiting boards and when they came about. Nothing outside the realm of reality there, just sharing an inconvenient truth.
You don't create something out of nothing. There has to be a trade-off. What I hear are folks complaining about something whose consequences they simply aren't taking into consideration, which is fairly typical of your average fan's perspective.

there's only one key difference between the 2 factions in the portal abstinence:
¹collectively both agree the portal is a negative entity & would rather it had never existed(me personally NIL as well)
but 1 faction would rather take an L than
use the portal then deny that the portal was responsible
and the other faction would rather win using the tools available like the other 120+ have been-(personally I don't care how we win and encourage carefully circumventing rules-although they're are none so tip-toeing through NIL guidelines is an extension of the tp handicap we've currently strapped ourselves-

Pointing out an erroneous take is not an insult. I addressed the fallacy in your statement and you're taking it personally. That's on you, not me. Had I countered with calling you a reactionary jackwad or something like that, then you might have a point.
For the record, Dabo used the portal this off-season. We didn't have scholarships available to do any more. Dabo is not going to yank scholarships or drive kids off. He might toss a player off the team for rules violations, which we've seen this season, or 'love shack' a kid until he either plays by the rules or quits, which we've also seen. And he is clearly not going to meddle with other teams rosters as a recruiting tool. If roster conditions change and Dabo sees more portal opportunity ahead - great! If he's comfortable with the roster and the HS recruits we've attracted - great!
You obviously have an opinion to share. That's awesome. That's what these kinds of sites are for.

After a full recruiting class,by Dabo's standards, 6-7 guys that had use up their eligibility ,took COVID year to stay at Clemson.

I think this would be a great spot for Jeff Scott. I know Pearman currently has it but given Jeff lack of desire for HS recruiting and Dabos respect for his input I think it is a perfect fit.
