Play calling and qb play are red herrings…

Nov 6, 2022, 1:42 PM

Not saying we are perfect, and certainly room for improvement.

But our WR play is absolutely killing us. And it’s not that we don’t have Hopkins, Watkins, Renfrow, or Mike Williams out there.

It’s that we can’t do even the little things like run our routes and block.

It’s absolutely killing us and it makes the whole offense look like train wreck.

I don’t care how well shipley fights, or the O-line plays, or how well the QB throws.

If we aren’t running the routes and making blocks in the secondary, we are a one dimensional team with no “homerun” threat.

Agree 100%. Many people that yell about our QB have agendas outside of football and those that question our coaches just have no appreciation for the good and cannot deal with less than perfection. Our receivers are just never open so is it poor routes, poor execution, or lack of speed and ability?

you say this: "those that question our coaches just have no appreciation for the good and cannot deal with less than perfection."

then say this: "Our receivers are just never open so is it poor routes, poor execution, or lack of speed and ability?".....?????

Who's fault is it that the receivers are never open????......it's either poor development (coaches), poor recruiting eval (coaches), lack of WR talent recruiting (coaches), poor scheming to adapt to our lack of talent/speed/skill......(COACHES)

So many times I have watched DJ lock on to his receiver with a 5 yard gap advantage, throw it 2 seconds late, and allow the DB or safety to break up the play. It's coaching, receivers, routes and QB play.
