Pitt is #1 in scoring offense in the country at 52.4 ppg

Clemson is at 112th with 20.5 points a game.
Last is Vanderbilt at 13.3 points a game at #130.
Someone asked why we are worried about the Pitt game. Question is, why aren't you?

Lol. Against a decent defense on the road. Once they scored 28 didn't even try to score much. Just ran out the clock on that long 4th qtr drive.

on Georgia Tech. The rest of their games have been against teams without a defense. They only scored 28 today against Va Tech, so not sure what that means!

At this point, I am worried about everyone on our schedule minus the chickens.
I hope we can turn it around.

You were referring to my post, I thought I laid out the numbers of why I am not scared of Pitt, but by no means am I saying it is an easy game or one we will Win— I am just saying we have no reason to be “afraid” of them. Should be a hard fought close game that could go either way, but if you just read TNet today you would think we were playing Bama next week.

Did you watch the game? They went up like 28-0 in the third, then completely took their foot off the gas and let their running game/defense hold out the win. Maybe resting up receivers.

One thing in our favor...

Brent V's defense.
I think we keep Pitt contained into the 20s.
Will it be enough for us to win?
Well, hopefully we've served our time in offensive purgatory and can score more than 1 TD in a half moving forward.
The good news, if the offense puts it together, even for half a game, we probably do enough to win out.
Bad news... we've yet to see it and no one knows when that light will cut on and if it'll stay on.
3:30 pm next Saturday I'll be watching and, like a person willing to challenge the definition of insanity, I'll be all-in hoping I see something different.

Yeah, I agree. In this day and age of the offense, we forget about how important a solid defense is...been so happy with our defense this year.
Seems like I keep getting my hopes up and waiting for the slump to be over, just to see the same thing happen again and again.
It's going to be a tuff game though I think.

I don't want to hear about Pitt... They lost at home to Western Michigan

Getting tired of hearing about these mid tier opponents. We should not lose to anyone on our schedule from the ACC, period. Time to turn this thing around, and if we don't, make some changes. Plain and simple.
As a 1992 graduate, I love my Tigers. But there is way too much talent on this team to look this mediocre.

These mid tier opponents have it in for Clemson. They are tired of losing to us and will give us their best shot.

What is Clemson allowing PPG defensively ? I asked that because Georgia only got 13 pts and they're scoring like crazy on everyone else .
Nevermind , I see it in the post above. 2nd in PPG scored. I like our chances at the road nail biter win

Looks like we may have an "L" coming next week unless our offenseive line learns how to block, DJ learns to get rid of the ball quicker and not stare down his primary receiver, develop some new & inventive play calling where we use the middle of the field, not always run on 1st down and don't continuously call WR screens.
