Philly fans?

Question for anyone in the know about Philly fans. Obviously not a great reputation, but anyone have any insight as to how much is fact vs. myth?

I’ll be in Philly this weekend and have tickets to the Braves/Phillies game. I’ll have my wife and toddler son with me, so if I get three innings of actual game time in I’ll be happy. I’m a lifelong Braves fan and was planning on wearing a Braves hat and shirt. I’ve asked around and I’ve heard everything from “don’t wear anything with a Braves logo” to “you’ll be fine just don’t engage if any fans talk smack to you”. Anyone have any experience with Philly baseball fans?

I haven’t heard anything about Phillies fans, just Eagles fans.

Most of the bad reputation Philly fans have is due to the Eagles fans. They really are awful.

As a Pittsburgher growing up I can attest that Eagle fans are absolutely the worst fans in the NFL.

The best you can hope for is that by game time they’re so drunk they just sit there and urinate on themselves.

You’ll have no troubles at a Phillies game as a visitor (unless you’re an obnoxiously loud Mets fan). Have a great time. Phillies games are much more laid back and family friendly.

(this feedback does not apply to Eagles or Flyers games. In those instances, you’ll get in as much trouble as your mouth wants you to)

You won’t have any trouble. I live up here and actually hate everything Philly. This season my wife got tickets to the Cubs game there because her brother is a huge Cubs fan. He wore all his Cubs stuff and nobody ever said a word to us. It’s pretty much as simple as don’t be a tool and don’t let the people that are tools get to you.
