Per Steve Wilfong at 247

Jul 17, 2021, 5:29 PM

"coaches at other schools are texting me saying Clemson is almost drafting who they want at the corner spot".

The numbers may not look like it on the surface, but our recruiting is doing really well right now.

.....and we only gave out 71 offers for 2022. LOL!! For comparison, these schools has given out the following offers for 2022:

Ohio St - 110
UGA - 216
Bama - 217
Florida - 254
FSU - 328
GT - 334

If we take 20 in this class, it will be scary good!

I don't know about scary good

But it's already pretty good, and I'm certain will move up a few more spots by the time the recruiting is over.

Based on 247's rankings, we're only behind Alabama (95.00) and tOSU (94.36) on average player ranking with 93.45. Clemson's ranking also include a kicker who is 80.00. Not hating on one of the nation's top kickers, just a fact that they aren't valued in these player ranking.

I’ll never underestimate a great kicker. May end up being a key piece in the class.

say we get what we are after either thompson or greene or the Dutch fork WR, Etienne at RB along with a backup QB to cade. one DT along with Lukus and another DE thats a pretty solid class. so maybe 6-8 more? 5 of them being four stars?

I think Kanak is going to be a big time player. He has some Muse-like qualities.

From what I gather we aren’t taking another QB in this class.

What does Bama tell the 195 that do not have committable offers when they call to tell the coaches that they are coming?

Schools that offer over 300 prospects must not place too much faith in their recruiting efforts to fill a maximum of 25 scholarships. Apparently, most of those offers are not committable but most prospects will welcome as many offers as possible to boost their "bragging board" material.

I like the philosophy of our coaching staff, be highly selective in our offers and place emphasis on character, personal and academic issues in addition to their athletic talents.

Not doubting you. I know we offer the least kids every year. So I’m asking out of curiosity. Where did you get those numbers? Does 24:7 list them?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep, 247 list them

Jul 18, 2021, 4:30 AM

You have to go to Clemson, and there is a place at the top that reads "Commits". Click on that and there are other options. One them being "offers". Then you can see who we've offered by state or by position group.

Nifty tool for sure!!!

You're right... that is a very nifty tool. Thanks for sharing that information. It's really great to see who is left on the board for Clemson. I'm really looking forward to getting the defensive lineman Shaw out of NC.

You're welcome.

I'm all in on Shaw too.

First on my list is Enai White. Can't ever have enough great DE's.

Second choice is Shaw. I think he's our best bet to land a solid DT.

3rd choice is Jaleel Skinner (TE). We need to keep fishing for the next great TE.

Other than that, we probably need another quality O lineman and WR.
