After the turnovers*. After both turnovers the defense kept us in the game. They carried us until DW4 turned it on later. GO TIGERS. 12-0.

Yep. They pretty much carried the offense through the first half. I hope all of our defensive players get plenty of rest and heal up as much as they can this week and prepare to bring home the gold next weekend!

team earn it, but most of the TDs we give up are off huge plays and drives that take 2-3 minutes. What we really needed after going up 21-3 or 28-10 was one of those "shut down innings" to borrow a term from baseball. Get the ball back to the offense up 18 and the game is just about over. Heck, make them use 5-6 minutes and force them to keep picking up first downs.

I get that Venables wants to continue being aggressive and that's the type of mentality that he coaches with and the defense plays with, but we got burned with blitzes in the 2nd half and it played right into their hands allowing them to get back in the game quickly.
