Amen Brother!
We are lucky to have Clements and Dabo!
I want Dabo to keep winning! I wish Clements would cut the growth. The majority of Students are commuters now that live way off campus. Otherwise he’s doing a great job!
Go Tigers, Beat Syracuse!

Well said. Also enlightening on the stats on current student enrollment and living alumni.

I agree, the fact the Clemson has an employee for every 1.84 students is mind blowing. Maybe that is why tuition has increased at the rate it has.

It's another great message from a Clemson leader, but perhaps falls on deaf ears

Can't blame leaders for trying to lead; President Clements & many of us fans will always wish Clemson would be represented by what so many of us often celebrate its leaders for, but more often we instead represent the total opposite, & that's what's so frustrating; Clemson nation is vastly represented in a way that isn't much like Clemson University, its leaders or its consistent, explicit mission to help people improve how they think, act, feel & behave every day & for the rest of their lives.
It's frustrating, for sure.
It's also no reason not to celebrate the good people & purpose Clemson has always been just as deliberate about, & to change how we behave because of it rather than in spite of when it isn't flawless. It's a great message, even if people choose not to hear it. Gotta give him credit (again) for at least trying, always. GO TIGERS!

Football, though?

This may be incidental, but his message seemed to be about the university & the recent issues with some of the professors & their responses to Charlie Kirk's life last week regarding punishment & response at Clemson University, but the post is in the football section. Just found that a little odd, but still, President Clements seems to be a great leader & representative of Clemson University outright & it's a good message, I think.

Didn't mean it matters, only that there so many other board sections here, & several that seem more implicit for a broader scope than specifically football is all.
To be fair, his statement (& the surrounding story itself) doesn't have anything to do with football outright is all, know what I mean? It was probably just an accident is all, but either way it's OK, just noticed it & asked to see if I was missing something on the football part but I don't think there really is, & that's OK, too.

IMO it was posted here because so many so called Tiger football fans, some Alumni, some fans that are just fans are not what Clemson is all about right now. That includes unfortunately some of the comments that are being made about our Football program. Just saying.

and your responsibility for it begins, he's just laid it out quite clearly:

encouraged it going forward. The personality types that make these kind of callous remarks publicly will never find rationality as a worthwhile venture. They look at it likes its their duty to be outrageous. The problem is it gives license to the younger generation to amplify bad behavior in the future. The guys are immature people that never learned how to be decent. I would hate for my kid to be programmed by trolls.

Too late. Trolling is profitable and now political discourse resembles two bratty kids yelling “calmer than you are” at each other. Sad times indeed.

16,000 employees sounds a little too heavy, I remember when it was around 2500 and that wasn’t to long ago, wow.

From what I've read it's happening everywhere. Most of the growth is in Admin and support staff. Faculty ratios has stayed constant or even dropped in some places. Also, students want first class amenities that have nothing to do with the quality of education. For example fancy dinning halls and posh fitness centers.

How many families is everyone in?

I’ve been told I’m also in the AT&T family, the Xfinity family, the Chick-Fil-A family, the Wells Fargo family, and more, all so I’ll feel like I’m an important part of something but really just to ensure I’ll remain a paying customer.

I hear you (& the analogy is kinda clever).
The difference is people don't make entire personas & accounts in AT&T's name, image & likeness the way they do for Clemson en masse (& other football teams, of course). It's a different "family" identity because it is an actual identity for so many people in a way Xfinity can't be by nature.

Very well said President Clements! I am a 3rd generation Clemson Graduate of 6 Generations and have been a proud member of the Clemson Family for 73 years. I am not only a member of this Clemson family, but a member of the human race. We need to do better as individuals and I think that’s what President Clements is asking of us. I’m glad to see the university having zero tolerance for the statements made by a few misguided members of the faculty. They have been hired to teach and not indoctrinate their political Views on the students in their classrooms. I know The Clemson family will rise to the occasion and lead the way for a better world. Go Tigers and I’m all in.

I do appreciate the wording that includes Tiger fans. I grew up a Tiger spend summers with my uncle who lived beside the Ford house and attending alomost all games home and away. Leaving high-school I choose to follow my father's path to the military rather than college. After returning to the civilian life I have to go to most every game the Tigers play. Sorry for jumping up on the soap box, but there are many in the administration AND on Tnet who seem to feel superior to those of us that choose another path.
